  1. Another in a string of unimpressive transfers from the new staff. High school recruits looks pretty good but we are definitely not filling the gaps created by our departure on defense.
  2. I literally has the American logo in it.
  3. That makes sense. I still feel like there have been more events under Baker/Mosley than when it was called a club.
  4. Ok. I am sorry you aren’t getting much out of it. I don’t live in the area (or country) but attended a very nice event this summer when I was in town to pick up my season tickets (I think that was the event…). Lots of free food and interaction with coaches, watched a practice in the stadium. I seem to recall several events like that over the past few years, but since I am not around I could be mistaken.
  5. Not there yet either, but it is a fact that there are significant upfront "costs" for high school recruits compared to bringing in developed players.
  6. The AD has a full staff of academic advisors and tutors, plus all the rest of their support staff. My personal experience was outside of that but there is a separate AD structure dealing with academic and other issues (like a positions that work on NCAA compliance issues, Title IX, NIL, etc) that all require funds and contribute to the development of a student athlete. An upperclassman can surpassed some of these hurdles, in part at least do their familiarity with the processes and system. As an example, picking a major and building a course schedule. A Junior transfer generally has a major already and understands how to register and build a schedule.
  7. Can you explain exactly what you think you lost with the name change? I don’t think it changed much if at all but willing to hear a different perspective.
  8. @greenminer This, plus the investment from the support staff getting them adapted to college life and the routine of being a student athlete at this level. As a former advisor that dealt with athletes (not a primary duty but advised many over the years) I can tell you that advising a freshman/sophomore is significantly more difficult and time consuming than an upperclassman. They have to figure out how to accomplish their academic goals in harmony with their athletic obligations. That takes some adjusting, especially given long road trips during the season and mandatory practices that conflict with the times for mandatory courses. So add that to the work the training and strength staffs have done (plus the coaching, obviously) it is a significant upfront investment to get a kid ready to be a full time starter.
  9. I like the general idea but would go with The Stadium and integrate their logo like we did with Apogee. What has not really been mentioned by the AD is how much of a revenue hit the termination of the naming agreement means for the department. It averaged out around one million a year, but we know that a good part included services to the university. No idea what the direct benefit to the department was annually, but whatever it was we won't be getting it.
  10. I started posting offers a decade or so ago so those that only use GMG to follow NT sports could track recruiting. Obviously anyone can go to 247 and just look at a list, but I always thought there were those that preferred to concentrate on this site. I also try to post their social media posts because they often tag their recruiters. Now, in the age of the portal it can also be useful to track who might come back to us through that route.
  11. It’s not like we landed four star players before 🤷🏻‍♂️
  12. Now a 4 star with 16 offers, so predictably we are out of the running.
