Not so sure how much more difficult is us that usually. Navy, Tulsa, Temple, Rice, FIU, and whatever FCS game we have this year gets us to six (none guaranteed but none were particularly good last year). Not sold on Memphis but their QB is solid and we don’t have one, but they or Cal are beatable although would be considered upsets. Who knows how good UAB will be with a new staff. I think our “usual” 6-7 win season is easily attainable and should be expected. That would pretty much put us in the top half of the conference.

Anyone but a WR please

Was hoping the recruit would not be another receiver but this guy’s numbers are insane:

I can’t image a scenario where this staff actually brings in a major recruit. HS recruiting has been ok but nothing more than the old staff. Charlotte just landed a guy with 50 offers, for comparison. I think they are energetic and hustling, but let’s be honest with ourselves. We hired an FCS coach who is still looking for diamond in the rough players while our peers are bringing in blue chips. Morris better be an amazing Xs and Os guy or he will be gone in three years.

The most important takeaway from the data is that less than ten percent of the budget comes from alumni so they should probably put up or shut up when it comes to their demands about the direction of the program.

Confused by his stats on the NWSt site. Did he play last year? -

I think the real problem is a bunch of grown ass men agonizing over the slightest whim of teenagers. (I include myself in this, of course, as I suffer the same illness: college sports.) -
Energy and engagement have been strong. Love the social media team and Coach O output. So far the high school recruiting efforts and results have been pretty good. On the negative side, I don’t see the same impressive results in bringing in transfers. It seems like most have been depth. That’s ok in general but pales in comparison to what SMUt and others are doing in the portal.

You try to bring in new donors at any level. This is a common practice in the fundraising world. You have to get people to give anything to create a habit of giving. If it’s only $25 that’s fine; it’s $25 you didn’t have before. And then you try to multiply that by a few thousand donors. Back in the day, George Mason did a drive for 100,000 new donors at only $10. Ten bucks is absolutely nothing for 99% of people but if you get that many people doing it, that’s a MILLION dollars. That’s real money. We have the donor base to pull that off. Ten thousand new donors at $25 minimum means $250K. That funds a lot of scholarships, which is what the MGSF is about. It’s not about fan perks or some rah rah bullshit. It’s about providing scholarships for these kids we all claim to love and support. Yet so many expect something in return for their donations - as if they don’t understand the meaning of the word “donation.” It’s literally a gift to the school without expectation of something in return. People really need to keep that in mind. The Mean Green Club was no different. And despite what some here have said, I don’t really see any difference between the two groups. If anything, engagement has improved over the last few years. Again, I am almost never around so my impressions are based on AD communications and my parent’s experiences at games and events (they use my perks and tickets when they can) so I am open to hearing other perspectives. But generally the AD has done a pretty good job of keeping us informed. Again, the key is people need to stop thinking of their donations as an entitlement and recognize what it really is: support for our university and its student athletes.- 73 replies

Given the lack of chatter here, I would tend to agree.

This one hurts. People rarely mention NT but his name was gold for publicity reasons.
