  1. Refreshing honesty…that pretty much backs up those saying that coaching was the problem. Looks like they are acknowledging and addressing some of the issues. We will see how they deal with the defense over the bye week, which will be the most important adjustment. If you check the recent offers, looks like they are prioritizing DL size from the JUCO ranks - a clear sign they don’t think it sufficiently exists on the current roster and immediate contributors needed.
  2. Looks like the staff is really looking to upgrade the size on the DL. Should have done that last offseason…
  3. You are almost getting it. This site, like Twitter, isn’t “free” just because we don’t have to pay to subscribe. Pretty sure those ads we are bombarded with are paying the rent. Clicks/engagement increases ad revenue for a site. I am of course speaking generally here with no insight into GMG’s finances but rarely is a site totally free. No idea what this site or the ads are collecting on us.
  4. Notice that a certain head coach appeared on a certain podcast and then the criticism gets blunted on here.
  5. The color guy was fine but the main guy was absolutely terrible. He talked about bullshit constantly. He even talked over touchdown plays.
  6. And if my aunt had balls she’d be my uncle. The play was absolutely unnecessary given how successful we were playing it straight up. Not only was it an unneeded risk (that failed miserably and was a big momentum and point swing) but it showed future opponents the play. Just a terrible call and a sign of overconfidence from a staff that has no right to it.
  7. Exactly. And a smart runner too. It was such a bad call. If you had to point to one play that led to almost losing the game, it was that shit call.
  8. His stats looked good but I think the running element of Harris might be the big difference.
  9. Absolutely zero interest in what he says.
  10. But we are consistently bad so maybe FCS and startup programs are actually our appropriate level of competition and we should include them?
  11. And my point was that it does. In fact, qb play might become more important because of the terrible defense since there is less margin for error from the offense. Baltimore won a Super Bowl with a so-so qb because the defense was dominant. If your defense is average you need good qb play. If your defense is weak your qb better be outstanding to win. Don’t get me wrong, I prefer our defense make massive strides immediately but I see few signs that will happen. I did see Earle give up three TOs and a TD and Rogers have a much stronger showing. If he can consistently replicate that, we might win a couple games with this awful defense. That’s my point. It is foolish to dismiss the weak start the offense had just because the defense was so bad.
  12. Can we score a TD first and then commit penalties indefinitely? Is there a foul they can’t decline and we just let them end up 1st and goal until the clock runs out with a 7-0 victory??
  13. I have a hard time seeing a win here. We need Rogers to protect the ball and the running game to be effective. Obviously the defense has to be better but that depends on the DC making some adjustments. I am not confident about that so I have to go with a loss.
  14. Almost the entire AD budget
  15. Maybe start Enoch at NT and put Rod at DE. We have a competent NT backup in Moore who reportedly is playing well. This moves Mazin back to LB as an outside pass rusher (quasi fourth lineman). Honestly I don’t know the answer but a 240lb DE in this system isn’t working and our LBs are on the small side. This would improve both problems.
  16. How exactly did you infer that from my post? You know that two things can be true at once, right? 1. our defense blows goats 2. a qb change was needed after the last game Both true, not mutually exclusive. Either defense or qb was better last game, even just in one drive, and we likely win.
  17. Dammit!!!!
  18. Agreed but in case you didn’t notice, the first half pick six ended up being the difference in the game. Earle’s other two TOs and 50 percent completion rate didn’t help much either. The difference in QB was remarkable.
