If so, that’s a much better optic. Obviously we don’t know who talked to who about what. But the national perception was that UTSA was a candidate and we were not. And that’s a pathetic indictment of our athletic program. That’s why I reacted strongly to our “commitment” post. Saying we were committed to the conference without any (perception of) another option would be silly.

We kind of embarrassed ourselves with this: Gives the impression we had a choice to make…

I look forward to seeing @aztecskinor @BillySee58 do a little breakdown of what we were seeing out there. A couple of times it looked like three down lineman with a standup edge rusher (#9). Was that that my imagination? I assume it was because most of this board was in the stands at the game?

The roster in general. I know I haven’t paid the closest attention this season (bc I have so little faith in Morris to succeed and NIL) but the amount of names that are not familiar in that roster is concerning. Down to fourth and fifth string RBs, injuries all along the line, suspended DBs, and no kicker worth a damn. Two true freshmen backup QBs (to a fragile guy) and apparently an INT machine of a starter leaves no real threat of benching Morris if this string of turnovers continues. It’s a bit of a mess.

They are likely to match that against our defense.

Good. Whatever it takes to get more people out to the games.

I was at the Rice game in Houston. It wasn’t even that close.

It is a season plus of being the worst defense in the country.

I don’t miss Seth at all, but I might if we end up with a losing record again this season.

That is exactly our problem. We would rather be mediocre than support the program and demand excellence. But that’s pretty much the best we can expect at this point.

I don’t care what defense he runs as long as he can recruit to that system - and more importantly adjust to the available personnel. Caponi wasn’t able to do that. Nor can he coach a defense. He is a position coach.

We need a competent DC. Doesn’t matter if the HC is from the offense or defense previously.

Gets us to a bowl game in which we get slaughtered as usual.
