  1. turn in your unt alumni card
  2. we need out of this bubba conference.
  3. big 12 commish cannot demand that schools stay in the conference. same as they cannot demand he stay commish. if they get better offers they are both free to leave. only penalty is already provided in contract or league rules.
  4. not well known enough to be a national program they are looking for. byu would be but too far west. ark will not leave sec. maybe louisville.
  5. his poker face is funny. a lot of saber rattling but knows he can't stop it from happening. threats of being stronger by adding better teams to replace neb and mo are laughable. who? power and money talk and the big 10 has it right now.
  6. nothing can justify swimming in that cesspool known as smu
  7. http://ncaafootball.fanhouse.com/2010/05/10/report-big-ten-extends-four-invites/ Obviously, it's possible they have approved the invites for expansion, but no one has confirmed or commented on this. A lot of this "story" just seems like a talk radio guy trying to stir the pot.
  8. 14-17, 16-26, 24-27 to texas was not suckiness. 20-77 to rice was.
  9. can't see a baylor vs washington state game exciting very many tv executives.
  10. elevating athletics to an even greater level would be the best investment the school could make. that would go far and above some academic areas as far as exposure to media and alums. In return would be far more donations. don't short sell athletics on importance to a school's image or lack of
  11. will these added teams be in play-in games or added to the brackets?
  12. another guy getting an offer from unt and appeared committed then shopping it around for someone to beat.
  13. tech is not so well known outside texas. just ask. unt will not climb unless we make our desire to do so more known in the media. we have to put our name out there for consideration and sell ourselves more to other conferences. tell the general public about our sports programs and future goals. let people know the bandwagon's destination.
  14. baseball is needed but non revenue sports in general are just fluff. who won the 2009 national titles in tennis, volleyball, swimming, golf, soccer, or track? me neither. we need to become a power in football and all other sports will get more respect and recognition, not the other way around.
  15. please, no more 5-10 guards. i love josh white but he gets stuffed every time he drives to the basket. in fact we have enough guards. need more good big guys.
  16. dodgeball: it's on the line!
  17. tcu cant fill its stadium with a top 10 team now. too small a fan base.
  18. not a good move. they will first see if mizzou bolts too. think byu and louisville as replacements.
  19. thompson is the future and if he is playing as well as tune now why wait to give him the job/
  20. wsu fan says watch out for this guy. http://www.gomeangreen.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=51957&pid=483763&st=0&#entry483763
  21. if we cant beat one of clemson, rice, army, or kstate it will be hard to get the 7 needed wins. 5-7 seems more realistic. enough to keep td?
  22. dont think we have hosted bama. cameron, college of the southwest, denton high, etc. but not alabama
  23. Larry Coker: "I also think that San Antonio is a great destination city–it’s a great place to come and play. We have the seventh largest city in the country with no football and we play in the Alamodome, a 66,000 seat stadium. Plus I think it’s also a chance for them to showcase their team so they can have a chance to recruit Texas." utsa will struggle as a newbie program for a while. but the above perks will move them ahead of texas state for fbs membership. it would be nice to have another texas school in the sunbelch. at least until we move out and up
  24. yes this. the detached alumni will not just call in and offer money. plus there is a recession going on and many folks out of work right now. they must be contacted and sold on a program that has not won since 2004. that takes time and communication. unt has changed fundraisers how many times recently? that does not help when the fundraisers keep changing and a new person has to learn names all over again. i know some stadium donors who were not listed on the scrimmage list. but you are right the total is way too small for a program that wants to be big time.
