it had more to do with getting good coaches and a lot of winning. mississippi state has a lot of support but poor coaching and few wins. support had little to do with boise success except look good on tv.

it is not just about football. unt has finished third most years in the bubas all sports rankings. the bottom half of the conference is weak overall in everythiig.

unt may have already told the wac no thanks again before they even asked. a denton blog reporter said this a couple days ago: First off, multiple UNT officials, including interim president Lane Rawlins, said that UNT has not been contacted by the WAC -- at least not yet. The more people I talk to, the more I believe UNT is going to stay where it is in the Sun Belt unless CUSA comes calling.
