Yeah, I really think we will see a huge difference in our defense this year. I know that it is hard to believe they can change, but I really do think Mendoza was just WAY out of his element. I'm pretty sure the offense just about knew what the defense was going to run on just about every play last year.

I agree with this assessment. This is what I have been thinking for awhile. I think as long as we don't have the worst d in the history of college ball again, which we won't, there is no reason we can't beat anybody this year, excluding lsu. The belt has gotten better, but they are NOT head and shoulders above us. We also get the special privelige of not having the bullseye on our backs. I don't know about you, but I'm gonna drop a hundred on us to win the conf. Have you seen those odds?

I've started a dynasty online with some of my buddies, and it works just like a normal dynasty. everyone has to be on the same week. I am not sure about the ability to play the games against other users at any point, that does not come up very often b/c we are all in seperate conferences. of course I am unt . It was a weak write-up I think you are right that they didn't count the win over wku. All of that info was based on gambling stats. They don't put a line up for games against 1-a and 1-aa teams, even if they are 1-a provisionals.

Just so you know, I say this with a smile on my face, but for your argument to be totally right your list would need to look like this: Mack Brown head coach of Florida, Bob Stoops head coach of Iowa State, Joe Pa head coach at Cornell?, and Vince Dooley head coach at Alabama. You get me some of those, then tell me that Dodge would go to one of his top two most hated rivals.

yeah, I saw that and wondered the same thing. I don't think they know that he played ball down at Texas. I also don't think, even though it would probably be more money, that Dodge would leave for anything other than a head coaching gig, especially with his son here.

I don't think we really have a shot at losing jones unless we make it back to the tournament, and have a first round upset. Anything other than that won't really give lsu the kind of pub they are looking for in a new coach. That being said, my hope is that johnny jones secretly has a huge crush on this school and wouldn't trade it in for any other job. I know, I know, that is VERY unlikely. I would also like to go ahead, since we are talking about him possibly leaving, that my first choice for his replacement would be the head coach down a sfa. WOW, what a coaching job. I also heard he is a unt alum.

I agree with you that we need big bodies, but if you look at the roster, I think we really need a back-up point guard to replace bell, and this kid would just be a huge landing for us. If we go after a big body, I think that we need to go after a juco guy that can come in and help us right from the start. we have 3 "big" guys returning with the addition of odufuwa, so I don't know that we are gonna get a big man out of high school to come in and necessarily help right away. Of course you never know with jones. He could have an ace up his sleeve that none of us know about.

There are a ton of mock drafts out there that have moved up the sun belts own Leodis Mckelvin to the top cb for the draft. He didn't even make the all sun belt team. cfn didnt even rank him as the biggest defensive loss, it was the other corner. they ranked him as the 26th best player in the conference. I know that there are all kinds of factors, all I am saying is that its crazy that we still only got 2 invites to the combine. What a f-ed up system this all is. In case you were wondering why I had the time to look any of this up it is b/c my gf is out of town and I have nothing else to do. yes I know that it is sad.
