I mean that's nice and all, but couldn't they at least get a nice convertible to take him around town in? ETA: Does this mean Frenchy is sponsoring at a higher level now?

Norm was covering sports when we changed out name TO North Texas State.

That would get better than current AAC level TV money, but a lot less than current B12 TV money. No real access to the CFP unless it expanded. An improvement, for sure. A conference that would have us selling out Apogee when we were good.
-
Sure. If NS/WB can get us into the AAC and then the B12 before he gets hired away.

Patterson moved from a lower end G5 conference, to a highly rated G5 conference, to a P5 conference. He was just lucky enough to do it at one school. The credit for Patterson staying goes to his admin, he didn't turn down jobs further up the ladder, his admin moved the entire damn school further up the ladder. If only we had been able to do that we could be where they are now.

That's an idea to run by @Harry

Unless someone comes up with audiotapes I'm not sure it's ever going to be settled. I've had a talk with what I would consider super plugged in mega donors who swear it is true, and also with ones who swear it is not.

SB NATION:College Football Empires Map Week 3

Yes. It's just a silly game to keep football nerds occupied until next week. No one is basing the access bowl slot off this formula. -
+1 to PocketCasts.

SB NATION:College Football Empires Map Week 3
Cerebus replied to Talon90's topic in Mean Green Football
It's not that confusing: 1) Everyone starts out with every county that is closest to them. 2) If you lose, the team that beats you takes any land you currently own. 3) If you win, you take any land they currently own. 4) Remember: it's cumulative. So: Week 1) We beat SMU, take their land. Week 2) UIW is an FCS, and FCS schools get no land assigned, so they could have taken our land and SMU's if they beat us. We won, no land changed hands. Week 3) We beat Arkansas, their land had already been taken by CSU. No land changes hand. Week 4) Liberty owns no land, their land was taken by Army. They can take our land and SMU's land if they beat us. If we beat them we keep our land but gain none. Week 5) Currently, LaTech has their land and USA's. If they lose to LSU, LSU gets it and we get no land for beating them. If LaTech somehow beats LSU, they will get LSU's land. That includes LSU's original land, and the land Auburn and Miami had claimed. Week Etc) Etc. It's just a silly game with arbitrary rules. -
LOL. 1) Message boards to 18 year old kids might as well be telegrams. Old tech. 2) The ones that even know they exist put next to no stock in them. It's just a bunch of blowhards who no almost nothing. Including me. I at least make up for it with my stunning good looks and sparkling personality. And the humility, can't forget my almost inhuman humility. 3) Recruits know how the game works. If they are worried about SL leaving, NOTHING WE SAY ON THIS BOARD IS GOING TO ASSUAGE THAT. We could have a banner on top of this page saying SETH LITTRELL IS GOING TO COACH HERE FOR 45 YEARS and it would mean nothing to them. It is up to SL to make the recruits feel good about coming here, not us. If he wants to put those rumors to bed, I am sure WB would love to sign him to a new extension with a huge buyout tomorrow. 4) This isn't TexAgs. This isn't a cult. As long as people follow the rules, we're not going to censor someones opinion just because it makes us feel bad. Disagree with someone saying we're going to lose SL, or to Liberty, or don't deserve a good bowl game? Fine, have a discussion with them. Calling for admins to delete threads that follow rules just because you don't like what they say is childish. 5) This team has a chance to win. A lot. We are a G5 school. When G5 school coaches start to win a lot, P5 ADs are going to notice. This is going to cause a lot of media speculation. I don't want the front page of this board to be dominated by 50 SL rumor threads. They are all going to be in this thread. Ignore this thread if you don't like knowing what is going on. Simple.

If he turned down that job offer to sign an extension here, then we should start a GoFundMe for the statue immediately. In fact, I'll do that and be the first donation.

Personally, at this point, I would rank TT over Tenn. TT is a middle of the road B12 team, where you don't have to play an SEC schedule, the fans aren't going to want you to beat Bama by year two, and you CAN be successful. I think SL was at TT when they got up to #3 in the nation. Tenn is, at this point, a bottom of the pack SEC team. It's a much tougher rebuild. I think there are A LOT of P5 programs that SL would turn down an offer to coach at. I am just not sure if TT is one of them, in fact I would lean to him going if he got that offer.

Texas Tech is heading into 3 straight Top 25 games. We really want them to win two of those.

Look we were much more "talented" than Portland State. They were just much more motivated, and a better "team." That Arkansas team was checked out early. There were times we rushed 3 and got there quick. Liberty isn't going to be checked out. They see us a huge feather to put in their cap.
