  1. I think both sides are right. There were times when he made a great read, and threw a ball as well as any QB. There were times he threw a bad ball and the WR made an incredible catch. I do know for most of the night he had a clean, clean pocket. No sacks. Very little pressure. Mason Fine could also do incredible things if we gave him that protection.
  2. I have dishonored my family. (Moving to Football forum).
  3. I am talking about how senior university leadership sees athletics.
  4. I mean, as long as they aren't a UTSA grad. We have standards.
  5. I was try to find a solution to our critical french fry and burritto covering shortages. And the dust storms.
  6. I was travelling over the New Year, so maybe I just missed this.
  7. Once the university found out how cheap Dodge would work, and how low an assistant pool he would settle for, not sure anyone else was really considered. Night and day difference in how athletics is funded (and perceived) now.
  8. Super Pit is a really good arena, and a pretty good basketball venue. It loses points because it is too large, very dark, and doesn't funnel sound all that well. Now, it looks great compared to a lot of the conference because there have been some terrible basketball venues in out Big West/SBC/CUSA days. ETA: SP also lacks a lot of modern amenities, lacks a lot of media needs (like camera mount locations, as everyone who saw the back of people's heads during the ESPN3 broadcast noticed), and as I have talked about before, is really worn down in a lot of areas the general public usually doesn't see.
  9. Track/soccer stadium happened first because the university paid for it fully, in order for it to claim the area Fouts sat on. IPF and AC were/are top priority. Locker rooms are a high priority as well. The other things you listed will happen if they find the right donor that wants to target that area. Not sure any of them would have general funding priority over a new arena.
  10. That was more or less luck. Without a cancellation we wouldn't have been able to host.
  11. The Super Pit is under control of an auxiliary body of the university. It has to be self funding. So yes, they have control over scheduling, and I can tell you there have been times when the athletic department and that aux org have not seen eye to eye and the org usually wins because they have to schedule paid events. Mean Green athletic teams have had to give way and either rescheduled events, or played them somewhere else. Most fans don't realize this, and that is why they never understand why the athletic department wants their own venue very badly. If WB is here long enough, the department will build that new arena before they ever build a baseball program. They will just move to their own facility and let the Super Pit be used by the aux organization to keep making money.
  12. NEWSOK: Owasso quarterback Will Kuehne remained consistent while growing as leader
  13. He made an impact when he played this year. Sucked up double teams and let the LBs do their job. That's what you want out of an impactful player at his position in our system.
  14. Great. Let's go back to the system that had North Texas stay at home after 10 and 9 win seasons. If the number of bowl games ever get cut, it will be just like the NCAA tourney. Not much chance of anyone except the CUSA champs making it.
  15. Coog boards really want Applewhite fired. They are hoping he gets let go after the holiday season. A lot of them want SL.
  16. ...and hype CoM.
  17. That's how all buyouts work. The coach leaving owes the money. Usually the cost is included in negotiations with the new school.
  18. UH loses their OC to FSU. Big effect on our game next year.
  19. Deficits. Damn you auto complete.
  20. That was TF. He was willing to do that because of the huge commitment UH was putting towards getting into the B12. That ship has sailed, and the school is facing huge devices that will force it to cut back on a lot of spending.
  21. New Mexico bowl payout was $1M.
  22. Let's not forget that raising the salary also makes it easier for us to hire the next hot coach when SL moves on. Salary is more or less covered by the big donors. They are choosing to give money where they want to.
  23. Between the Big 12 media deal and OUs secondary media deals they make about $80M/yr from that alone. If ou wanted sl they could easily pay any buyout we could imagine. No need to give them a discount.
