Ugh.

Really surprised they went as far as getting the back board out and then let him walk off.

82 down and it doesn't look good.

First Team AP? Yes. Cobbs and JaMario both made the All American First Team list chosen by another prestigious American literary organization, Playboy Magazine. -
Take Fine off this team and how many wins do we have this year? Football isn't basketball, one person can't carry an entire team, even at QB. The last time I looked at the PFF Clean Pocket QB Ratings Fine was #1 in the nation. In other words, when he isn't getting plowed into the ground 1.5 seconds after the snap he is the best QB in the country. How in the world can you expect more than that? I am serious about that question, take Fine off this years team and we win how many games? Two all year?

Joe Greene didn’t just get the statue for what he did at NT. He was an incredible ambassador for the university for decades after he left. No doubt Fine can be that type of person, but I think he’ll have to do it to deserve the statue. HoFer with out a doubt, Beck wave the five year rule and put him in on Senior day. -
We won't ever replace Fine just like we never replaced Booger. This offense doesn't have to throw 50 times a game, with the RB talent we have don't be surprised if the run/pass ratio is very different next year. I agree with @BillySee58, what we need next year is a qb with the arm strength and accuracy to make defenses pay for cheating up to stop the run.

Ouch. Ouch 2. FAU, UAB, one of those 3 letter schools.

I'm not sure a single Homecoming game has been under 20k since we moved back to 1A, even in the darkest of years. HC is different, a ton of people who show don't really follow the program, and have no idea how the team has done that year. It's just a tradition. If we can pull in 20K for FAU I'll be impressed.

Plus, they have a nice Captain D’s.

You beat the entire team by yourself? Incredible. I don't know whether to respect you a little more, or a little less, for this. I agree. However, I don't think it's a binary choice between Fire / Not Fire.

On the bright side @emmitt01, this could just be age related memory loss 🙂

Man if your time is so cheap that watching several hours of press conferences instead of 30 minutes of reading just to save 5 bucks is worth it...

"Twitter and social media" feed off of newspapers and other real journalists. Next time you read a tweet or blog post, notice how often they have a line that says something like "according to a report in the NYT" or, "The Dallas Morning News reports...", etc. Most of the real leg work is coming from journalists. Without them, the "twitter and social media" have nothing to report on. Newspapers made a huge mistake at the start of the internet age, when they decided to compete on price. You can't be free, they should have competed on quality. Interestingly enough, higher ed is at the same crossroads. If higher ed tries to compete with online only education on price or ease of use, they are going to get killed. They need to compete on quality. Sure, they will lose some people to online ed, but they always lost some people to trade schools because of cost/ease, and they never decided to change everything to try and compete with trade schools.

Folks, it's homecoming. Even in the darkest of the dark years we had a decent crowd because a lot of alumni who had NO IDEA how our football team was doing would show up for this one game.

NCAA Rules Athletes Allowed to Benefit From Likeness
Cerebus replied to Cerebus's topic in Mean Green Football
I think the main way most players see money on this is coaching and social media. You know how many moms would love to have their little darling get coached by a real college player? That applies to all sports, a good volleyball hitter can give those lessons just as well as a good linebacker can. A lot of people make money off of social media. A lot of D1 athletes has a ton of followers. Of course, the CGB/MBB players will make money off the video game licensing rights. -

NCAA Rules Athletes Allowed to Benefit From Likeness

It seems to be very clear that any likeness/image deal is going to have to go through an NCAA clearinghouse. Boosters are already flat out paying people to play at their school. At every level. So I don't see how the proposed changes are going to make that any worse, it won't stop it, but it's already happening and the NCAA doesn't really have any interest in stopping it from happening now. -
I mean all human language is just mutually agreed upon constructs. Why is the thing we call an apple called a pomme by other people? Because big enough groups of people decided that's what they are called. In modern and scholastic usage the decade group has been commonly judged to be separated by the tens digit. The 1950s run from 1950->1959, the 1980s run from 1980-1989. I mean does anyone consider 1970 to be part of the 60s? Or 2000 to be part of the 90s? So with that in mind: Jan 1 2010->Dec 21 2010: 1st Year Jan 1 2011->Dec 21 2011: 2nd Year Jan 1 2012->Dec 21 2012: 3rd Year Jan 1 2013->Dec 21 2013: 4th Year Jan 1 2014->Dec 21 2014: 5th Year Jan 1 2015->Dec 21 2015: 6th Year Jan 1 2016->Dec 21 2016: 7th Year Jan 1 2017->Dec 21 2017: 8th Year Jan 1 2018->Dec 21 2018: 9th Year Jan 1 2019->Dec 21 2019: 10th Year Jan 1 2020 is the start of the next decade (the 2020s), Jan 1 2030 is the start of the next one (the 2030s). If we don't win CUSA in 2019, then we haven't won a conf championship in the 2010s.
