I agree. Solid experienced players for the OL and DL should be a primary concern.

I agree that Meager is a bright spot. First, he has a competitive spirit as did both Hall and Smith. And from what I've seen, he has decent poise. He's capable of tucking the ball and running - we've seen him be very successful with this. Yet, in spite of that, he holds on to the ball making an effort to run the play as designed. This demonstrates patience and a willingness to learn the system. From this, he'll learn to read defensive schemes. He has arm strength and a good vision of the field. If he keeps working hard, he'll make a great QB. Side note - as long as we are rebuilding ... RF's response was a poor example for our players to follow. Composure is everything on and off the field.

No, but if I had not pursued my MBA in HR at UNT then she and I would never ever have met. And although she did not attend UNT, she proudly wears North Texas stuff everywhere she goes. Ex-wife: I didn't meet her at UNT either, but I always encouraged her to go to UNT to get her undergrad in Art. After we divorced, she did just that. Eventually she received both her BA/MA degrees from NT. FURTHERMORE, she ended up meeting her current husband at UNT and so, it's kind of like I set them up.

There needs to be a Green Giant-sized a** chewing. Which may not happen since we have a President with no teeth (by virtue of his resignation), and we have a Chancellor who was probably more concerned about the SMU/A&M game ...

I see where you're coming from. But I'm glad that we got our butts handed to us. The coaches and players deserve the embarrasement that comes with half-a** preparation. Penalties demonstrate poor preparation.

Personally, I think DD and the coaching staff are responsible for not making sure that certain key players made their grades. Dang it. It's not that hard to pass your classes. The Athletic Dept has a responsiblity to ride the players butts when it comes to making their grades. That should be priority number one.

Final Analysis: Worth the money if you just ache to see Fouts Field in Action. But as far as the value: 3 out of 10. Basically, the live stream was about as competitive as the game. It cut in and out quite a bit the first half, but by the second half it was going along okay. Camera work needs a ton of improvement. For instance, they should keep the camera focused on the person carrying the ball. I'm sure this will improve as they gain more experience. Audio: you get to listen to Hank and George which is always enjoyable. Two quality guys with whom we're all familiar. Video: not bad, but probably depends on the user/computer. It was decent enough for my purposes. Biggest frustration: stream was interrupted often and the camera work was attrocious (sp?).

Well, there was a lot of green being in the pans of the crowd. The stands looked pretty full on the alumni side, but I didn't catch many glimpses of the student side.

I'm not surprised so much as I am disappointed.

Thank god for that safety.

Let's try putting Cobbs at QB along with Quinn and Jamario in the backfield and go option from here on out. At least we'll cut down on the sacks and we'll eat up the clock.

1ST Why Cant we win OOC gmes Thread

Sorry to hear that you're already getting flack over this game. I live in San Antonio where I go to law school. I can't take two steps without running into a UT fan. The whole town is in love with UT. Over half my class mates are UT fans (whether they went there or not). I wear a NT shirt at least twice a week. I'll do it again next week. But its going to be painful, because somebody from UT always makes a comment about what a sorry school UNT is. I really get tired of it, but what can I do? -
Yes, this will be a very long year. But maybe we want have to read any more posts about how we don't get any recognition for what we've done in the past. As we're demonstrating, we cannot compete outside the Sun Belt.

This is not cool. -
This is getting especially painful.

Yep, I had similar problems. I kept working at it and it started working just in time to watch things get really, really bad. Now, I'm wishing I didn't even have the ability to watch. Thankfully, the cameraman is pretty good about not keeping the camera on the action, so I while I get to hear the train wreck, I don't have to see the actual collision.

Good to see Meager wasn't injured.
-
I don't know why Meager was replaced, but I agree that it was a poor decision to replace Meager unless there was an injury concern.

Anyone else using this service? I'm having difficulty with it cutting out. Was wondering if anyone else was using the livestream feed and how it was performing for you.

Best Alternate Location for NO Bowl ?
monkeycage replied to MeanGreen61's topic in Mean Green Football
Of the options given, San Antonio is most tourist-friendly. No gambling, perhaps, but there are plenty other things to do. For those folks who want to bring the family, there is Sea World, Fiesta Texas, the Alamo and the Riverwalk. There are plenty of good places to eat and plenty of hotel accommodations available. The Spurs are travelling at the time, which will give Sunbelters open run of the Riverwalk. This is probably the closest that we get to Bourbon Street. Open containers are generally permissible in the Riverwalk. -
Check that. 8 Blocks. Incredible.
-
7 Blocks. Very nice. Doesn't exactly make up for poor free throws, but keeps us alive.

Keep the ball in Hopkins hands... please.
