  1. Yes. The funk has been powerwashed off of the stands. Now if they would only clean the men's rooms and get rid of those wretched troughs. It's like being a steer at feeding time.
  2. Exactly. I am sick and tired of people that say, " well we would have won if...", "We had more yards than you and dominated in the stats but...", "You didn't beat us, we beat ourselves..."
  3. It's a tie between: Jason Mills running for one yard against NE Louisiana in the 3rd quarter in 1994. Cory Pertile covering a tight end against Samford in 2000.
  4. No offense Harry but your topic on damaging plays brought me down. Time for some good memories. In no particular order: - Mills to Harrison for the TD with 64 seconds left to beat Tech in 1997. - Mills fade pass for the winning TD in the come-from-behind victory over Oregon State in 1995 - Don McGee intercepts Paul Dombrowski in the end zone in the 4th quarter with NT up 31-27 to preserve the lead in the "SunBelt Championship Game" in 2002.
  5. Oh wait, were you serious? DD will never equal out the run and pass. We just use the pass to keep the defense honest.
  6. It was against OU and it was highly embarrasing.

  9. What players on offense and defense will be the impact players against Tulsa. Offense: I think that Meager will be the man against the Golden Hurricaines as Tulsa will undoubtedly stack the box with 8-9 players. Meager will have to make quicker, and better, reads to find the single coverage. This will be a big game for him as he has has a taste of the speed at the D1A level and I think we will all be surprised with his performance. Defense: I think Aaron Weathers will be the make or break/player on defense as he will be asked to help the linebackers with coverage against TE Garret Mills as well as provide run support. Mills had 13 receptions for 152 yards against OU and 5 for 38 yards against Minnesota. If Weathers can play as big as he did against MUTS than we have a real chance to shut the Tulsa offense down.
  10. Mitch, You do not owe an apology to anyone. I usually agree with STEBO about 99% of the time, but not this one. I remember the Montana game in 1994. It was my first North Texas game. We all wished you had just one more play on that potential game winning drive as time ran out. We lost 21-17 but you showed me your grit and determination that day against a top 5 team.
  11. We shouldn't have to worry about that for several decades.
  12. I remeber that play vividly. We had just stopped the Aggies cold and we knew the momentum had swung our way. After the fumble it was all she wrote. How about Ladarrin Mclain fumbling the ball on his way for the winning score against Tech in 2000 On the other hand, how about some great plays: - Mills fade pass with time running out against Oregon State for the win in 1995 - Mills to Harrison for the win at Tech in 1997
  13. I was waiting for the copycat post. It happens every year. We stole it from Tech after coming from behind and embarrasing them in Lubbuttocks. There is a difference.

  15. Shouldn't that be understood
  16. http://msn.foxsports.com/cfb/story/4865056 All right FOXSports.comrades, let's take a look at some of the best games and individual performances from this week in those I-A conferences that are generally a little less BCS-friendly. North Texas 14, Middle Tennessee State 7 In the long awaited reintroduction of the North Texas' two-headed monster rushing attack and a 25-game Sun Belt winning streak on the line, Eagles fans had to sweat out two and a half quarters of Middle Tennessee holding a 7-0 lead. Halfway through the third quarter, North Texas sophomore LB Maurice Holman took an interception 99 yards all the way to somebody's house in Murfreesboro, TN. From there, the Mean Green never looked back, except to turn around and hand the ball off to running backs Patrick Cobbs and Jamario Thomas some more. Cobbs, the nation's leading rusher in 2003 had 28 carries for 103 yards and a score. Thomas, the nation's leading rusher in 2004 had 58 yards on 10 carries. MTSU quarterback Clint Marks continued to demonstrate why he's one of the more accurate passers in the nation, completing 21 of 27 passes. Actually, Marks completed 24 of 27 passes, three of them just happened to be to North Texas players. The Blue Raiders had five turnovers as 20,806 fans showed up to Floyd Stadium for 2005's "MTSU Shoots Theirselves in the Feet Day." Blue Raider back Eugene Gross's feet were okay though, as he added 129 yards on the ground on 28 carries.
  17. I guess he was trying to be cute with his comment in the PS. It is pretty obvious that the other board is the Bitter one so by process of elimination.

  21. NCAA Looks Into Possible Violations 03:13 AM CDT on Tuesday, September 13, 2005 By Bill Braskey / The Denton Daily-Times-Standard-Herald-Dispatch-Free Press The NCAA is looking into possible illegal payments and recruiting violations involving the University of North Texas and their Sideline Refreshment Technician. Former SRT Jimmy "Smooth Pour" Franklin admitted to investigators that he received money, plane tickets, and free Sprite during his 4 years as the starting SRT for head coach Darrell Dickey. Franklin also aluded to possible perks during his time as a "chaperone" for visiting recruits. " When I picked up a recruit at the airport, the limo was full of Cokes, Sprites, Diet Cokes, heck there were even a few Pibb Xtras in the cooler. It doen't take a brain surgeon to realize that I didn't pay for those "refreshments". What the recruits and his friends didn't drink, I got to take home for free. I wasn't proud of it but the drinks were so tasty and refreshing, I couldn't help myself." Investigators also spoke with Ira "No Foam" Goldstein(1999-2000). Goldstein was a much heralded JUCO transfer that was being courted by the likes of Texas, OU, and Michigan. Many people inside athletic event drink service circles were shocked that North Texas was able to land such a highly touted recruit. We may now know why he chose NT. Inside sources reveal that No Foam has told the NCAA that he received many of the same perks that Smooth Pour did. Goldstein is also purported to never have attended a class while enrolled at North Texas. After collge, Goldstein was a first round draft pick of the New York Giants. In his first game, Goldstein spilled not one, but two drinks on Jim Fassel in the first half. He was demoted to second team and quickly began a downward spiral. Goldstein became addicted to Jolt Cola and was drinking a 12 pack a day. North Texas officials had no comment to the allegations except for the fact that they beleive Goldstein is now coming forward to drum up sales of his new book, Have Drinks, Will Travel. NCAA investigators should complete the inquiry by next week.
  22. MUTS is #1 nationally in the Sexiest Team That Still Can't Beat North Texas category.
  23. Death, taxes, NT beating MUTS, NT players getting weekly awards. There are some things you can just count on.
  24. My wife said the same thing. RV wants the average college football fan to flip on the tv and be able to know that North Texas is playing as soon as they see the helmet. The helmets could have pictures of Robert Blake paying a hitman to shoot his wife on them for all I care, as long as we are winning ballgames.
