  1. There has been alot of negativity, in-fighting, name-calling, anger, etc...whatever you want to call it(I have been guilty of it as well). I thought I would post something positive. We are 5 games into the season which is roughly the half way point. Who is your mid-season NT MVP?
  2. You beat the team that beat us? Ohh happy day. goody goody goody. Let me present to you: and:
  3. NT 10 LaTech 28 It is tough to win on the road no matter who you are playing and I don't think Saturday will be much different. I think the line for this weeks game is pretty accurate. Our offense has not shown signs of life all season and if the defense doesn't get some rest during the game then we could be in for a long day.
  4. The problem with that 1 loss is that NT, Troy, MUTS, and ASU have 1 loss and LaMo has 0 losses. It could play out as such: LaMo: If they beat MUTS and lose to us and then win the rest they will have 1 loss. NT: Win out and we have 1 loss Troy: Win out and they have 1 loss. The above scenario would leave 3 teams with 1 loss in conference and all bowl eligible. If 2 or more teams are tied for first place at the end of the season, the Belt chooses who goes bowling and you can rest assured that it won't be us.
  5. OK: Rushing defense is #6 in the SBC Passing defense is #3 in the SBC Total defense is #6 in the SBC Pass efficiency defense is #6 in the SBC Scoring defense is #3 Those are some stellar numbers considering 2 of the schools in the SBC are provisional 1-A members.
  6. Really good defense? Are you kidding me? Rushing defense is #110 in the nation giving up 213 yards per game Passing defense is #45 in the nation giving up 204 yards per game Total defense is #94 in the nation giving up 418 yards per game Pass efficiency defense is #102 in the nation at 144.14% Scoring defense is #78 in the nation giving up 27.6 points per game Tackles for loss is #109 in the nation with 4.4 per game 3rd down defense is #98 in the nation allowing 44.1 % 4th down defense is # 110 in the nation allowing 80% Mind you we have posted these stellar defensive stats playing against: MTSU(111th in offense) Tulsa(49th in offense) Kansas State(73rd in offense) Troy(109th in offense) FIU(64th in offense) Is that your idea of a good defense?
  7. Here's a better way to compare ourselves to our SBC mates. By looking at all of the stats instead of just pulling some out that are ranked 1 or 2 out of a whopping EIGHT terrible teams: http://web1.ncaa.org/d1mfb/Internet/conf%2...00000818TD.HTML Here are my not so surprising stats(national rank may differ from the number in the conference charts when adding FAU and FIU): NT is 7th in the SBC(113 in nation) in Punt return avg at 3.83 yards NT is 8th in the SBC(119th in nation) in total offense at 203 yards per game. NT is 7th in the SBC(91st in nation) in rushing offense at 111 yards per game. NT is 8th in the SBC(117th in nation) in passing offense at 92 yards per game. NT is 8th in the SBC(117th in nation) in 3rd down conversion % at 23.3 %. NT is 8th in SBC(115th in nation) in passing efficiency at 84.62 %. NT is 8th in SBC(118th in nation) in scoring average at 9.2 points per game.
  8. It was actually the most powerful storm ever in the Atlantic Basin with a pressure of 882. Wilma is one bad mama. My thoughts and prayers to all who are in the path. This year has seen 3 of the most powerful storms(as measured by barometric pressure) ever recorded in Katrina, Rita, and Wilma.

  11. Why is that such a surprise? We beat a 4th year program by 3 points after getting 8 turnovers. That is pathetic. What makes anyone think we will even hang with LaTech. LaTech 31 NT 10

  17. If FC Dallas gets the #2 seed we will have the home field advantage in the first round of the playoffs. Home field gives us the 2nd leg of the home and home aggregate series. This means that we would play at PHP on the weekend of Oct 29-30. http://www.mlsnet.com/MLS/news/team_news.j...t=.jsp&team=fcd
  18. Just how has Ford Stadium(opened for the 2000 season) helped SMU? SMU's attendance average 1996-1999 was 18,373 SMU's attendance average 2000-2004 was 18,526 A whopping 153 more fans per game with Ford. SMU's record: 1996 5-6 1997 6-5 1998 5-7 1999 4-6 2000 3-9 2001 4-7 2002 3-9 2003 0-12 2004 3-8 Looks like a regression to me as far as the record.
  19. It will magically change everything. We will start selling out games because, after all, most fans attend games because of what the stadium is like. They don't care about the product on the field. I mean just look what Ford has done for SMU. They have been selling out games like crazy and they are beating BCS teams left and right now that all the recruits want to go there. Yeah right.

  23. If you have a jar of instant powdered water, what do you add? Thank you very much. I'll be here all week. Don't forget to tip your waitress.
  24. Will it ever stop? Yo - I don't know Turn off the lights and I'll glow To the extreme I rock a mic like a vandal Light up a stage and wax a chump like a candle
  25. You are right on. I think if we went to the option more than a few times a game, it would expose Danny way to much to D-ends and linebackers popping him at will. I think we can use it situationally as well as to keep defenses guessing but not all the time.
