http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/dw...it.26d4f6d.html North Texas Hits: RBs Patrick Cobbs and Kevin Galbreath finished first and third in UNT history in career rushing yards with 4,050 and 2,417 yards. TE Andy Blount, DE Adrian Awasom, DE Darrell Daniels, RS Ja'Mel Branch and DB Markeith Knowlton also earned all-conference honors. Misses: UNT signed 10 linemen, but few panned out. Jason May and Weston Thaggard contributed on offense, while Chris Miller started one season on the defensive line. RB Roy Bishop was a state top 100 recruit who never made a major impact. Epilogue: UNT picked up several players who contributed to its four-year reign as Sun Belt Conference champions. Cobbs, Galbreath and Awasom are among the Mean Green's all-time best, while QB Andrew Smith led UNT to a New Orleans Bowl win in 2002.

http://recruitingbuzz.beloblog.com/ Big Buzz for North Texas Brett Vito, who covers North Texas for the Denton Record-Chronicle, passed along an interesting note: Kimball defensive end Robert Williams is expected to visit North Texas this weekend. Getting Williams would be a major coup for North Texas. Williams is one of the top four or five defensive end prospects in the area. He has been offered by Washington State, Iowa State and UTEP. So North Texas gives Williams an option close to home.

Excerpts from questions asked during the Dallas Morning News Chat with Todd Wills: Drew: Why does NT coach Dickey keep all recruiting news and info so quiet? What do you expect from North Texas this year? Todd Wills: North Texas is like some other local schools (are you there, SMU?). They just quietly go along, recruit the players they want to recruit and take their time to make sure they are getting the best players for their programs. It's not like they are really competing with Texas, A&M, OU, Tech... It's hard to argue with Dickey's success. He's taken UNT to several bowl games and been able to recruit some nice players. I'd say to any North Texas fan, don't worry. Drew: How much does the new athletic center at North Texas help in the recruiting process? What players do you know of that North Texas is in on, and what are the chances? Todd Wills: I'm sure it's a big plus. I haven't talked in North Texas coaches about it, but nice facilities are usually a big bonus in the recruiting game. North Texas has a lot of names out there. It just missed on Denton LB Anthony Sowe, who committed to SMU last weekend. But how about this name -- Euless Trinity QB Trevor Vittatoe. Word is he wants to play at North Texas and he did just lead his team to a state title. Drew: What do yoy think of the 4 mid-term jucos signed by North Texas. And how are things going for Dickey and staff? Todd Wills: There was some buzz over the signing of 6-2, 290-pound offensive lineman Trent Stanley out of Coffeyville Community College in Kansas. He was second-team JUCO All-American. Louisiana Tech had offered him and Kansas State liked him. As for Dickey and his staff, I don't think you can say anything but good things about them. They have turned North Texas into a winning program.

Bill Braskey wins hands down. Bill is 6'9" weighs 390 and has .00005% body fat. He eats 2 Thompsons Gazelles for breakfast each morning and washes them down with a tall glass of freshly squeezed enriched Uranium 235. He fights with a hybrid martial arts style of combat he learned from the 14th couzin of Sun Tzu known as karatejitsufuhopkido-re-me-ramalamadingdong. He once killed Chuck Norris using only a toothpick used by Slim Pickens during the filming of 1941 and some piano wire given to him by Tim Conways personal trainer. He later revived Chuck through his extensive knowledge of Pulmonary medicine he received at Dartmouth so that Chuck could continue filming Invasion USA.

That's a nice attitude and all but I will be astonished if we can stay within 35 of UT.

He was indeed 1st team All-Pro last season and is one of the most dominant offensive lineman in the league. Too bad the Cowboys didn't hold on to him. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/6795616

I have the North Texas wallpaper on my cell phone. Unfortunately it is the old "circle-star" logo. Has anyone been able to find the new "son of worm" wallpaper for their phone?

We will be in for a long night especially if Vince Young comes back for his senior season. Vince Young is great but he is no Bill Braskey. Braskey went 6-8 275 and was all muscle. He once threw for 450 yards and ran for 275 and 8 touchdowns in one half. In the 2nd half, the ref tried to review a play so Braskey folded the ref up like a card table and proceeded to play Texas Hold 'Em with the side judge, the head groundskeeper, and the tight ends coach. Braskey won $10,000 that night and the MVP to boot.

Early lines have Texas favored by infinity.

How wonderful for a program to have to differentiate between multiple rape suspects. -
How about allowing one student each game the opportunity to be the head coach and one alumni the opportunity to be the offensive coordinator. Just imagine how many more games we would win.
