  1. Give scientists 20 years and they'll be back to creating a scare about an impending ice age like they were in the 70's.
  2. We played South Florida in 2001 and 2002 so Henry was not there.
  3. You're right Lonnie, Dodge shouldn't stand up for his players.
  4. Yawn. Don't you have anything new to say? It's the same thing over and over and over again. We all get it by now. You are smarter than all the rest of us. Let's just change the name to Golonnie.com and be done with it.
  5. In the imortal words of Susan Powter: STOP THE INSANITY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! http://rds.yahoo.com/_ylt=A9gnMidh_whHt5YA...ages/powter.jpg
  6. Now you are pi$$ing me off you piece of $hit. Keep talking about my wife and you will get your a$$ kicked. And if you think I am joking you are wrong. You hear me talking to you scumbag.
  7. I agree with your assesment of MGSig but FFR is one of the finest and most ardent supporters Mean Green football has ever had. I think he is just sick of the defensive performances this year. And Cooley knows his $hit, I just disagree highly with his assesment of Vizza.
  8. This could be possibly the dumbest thread in the history of GMG.com and it's many previous iterations. I know the board rules and such but YOU, sir, are a MORON of the highest order.
  9. A little cover 2 would be nice to start with. Let's try disguising our coverages a bit as well. We're simply not throwing enough looks at the quarterback to confuse him. The only time we change up the pressure up front is with a twist here and there and an inside stunt once in a blue moon. We show blitz every now and again and then back off before the snap. The problem is that we never blitz, so showing blitz doesn't tend to confuse the opposing qb very often. I'd even be happy dropping Chapman and Miller back into zone blitz coverage every now and then. It really boils down to the fact that we are putting basic looks out there and not really mixing our looks up.
  10. Please explain just exactly what "the truth" is that hurts so much. We get it. You've made up your mind about TD's coaching ability after a grand total of 5 games after DD left the cupboard dry. Great sample. You should try to find work with Zogby.
  11. I don't think I could disagree more with your post. This was Vizza's FIRST COLLEGE START. He is a TRUE FRESHMAN. Do you guys get it? He is making the kind of mistakes that TRUE FRESHMAN make. Not the kind that 4th year juniors make. Does anybody remember when Scott Hall came around. He rode the bench his first few games as a freshman and finally broke through to become the starter. As we all know, we didn't do so hot that year. Hall made FRESHMAN mistakes his first year but he learned from them and he improved and became a very good, if not great, quarterback. He played with grit and determination. He stood in the pocket and waited to throw the ball knowing he was gonna get clobbered. He stuck his head down and took hits to get that extra yard when he ran. Vizza displayed some of the very same attributes tonight and I think he is on a very similar path to what Hall did. Vizza stood in the pocket checking down his receivers numerous times even when he knew he was gonna take a hit. He put his head down and fought for yards. Go back and look at the game on DVR and you will see what Vizza has.
  12. ULL 31 NT 27 Until our defense proves they can stop anyone I will have a hard time predicting that we can hold anyone below 30. We will get to where we want to be but it is gonna take some time.
  13. I would go to the website of your carrier and try to find the ringtones section. I have AT&T and that's what I did.
  14. Prayers go out to recent NT bowl opponent Memphis who had a player murdered this weekend. http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=3044395

  16. http://www.meangreensports.com/ViewArticle...;ATCLID=1252532 Hutyra Scores Twice As The Mean Green Blank The Cajuns DENTON, Tex. (9/30/07) – In work-man like fashion the North Texas women’s soccer team blanked Louisiana-Lafayette 4-0 from the North Texas Soccer Field. Playing shorthanded because of injuries didn’t slow the Mean Green (8-2, 2-0) down as they remain perfect on the year at home and improve to 2-0 in Sun Belt Conference play. " I was very proud of the team today with three starters out for this game with injuries they showed a lot of character and were determined to find away to win this game against a very hard working team like Louisiana Lafayette,” said North Texas head coach John Hedlund. Senior goalkeeper Kandice Ellis made eight saves to become the all-time saves leader at North Texas with 207. The shutout was her third of the season and the 15th of her career. Heather Hutyra had her first multi-goal game of the season with two. Freshman Danielle Herron notched her first career goal and first goal of the game in the 26th minute of play. Her goal came off a loose ball in the box when freshman Janaye Woods found her behind the Cajuns defense. Holding a 1-0 lead at the break, the Mean Green put the Cajuns (4-5-2, 0-1-1) away in the second half. First Hutyra made is 2-0 in the 57th minute of play with a goal off a cross from Brittany Cleveland. It was 3-0 ten minutes later when Veronica Ayala scored when she headed in a free kick from Kendall Juett. Hutyra capped off the scoring in the 84th minute when she caught the Cajuns defense napping and slipped behind them off another pass from Cleveland. North Texas outshot Louisiana-Lafayette 19-14. North Texas is back in action on the road next week with a match Friday night at Florida International.
  17. I am only trying to give a perspective of what Dodge said in previous interviews. He said that the criticism he took at the hands of the press and from being booed and bashed by the fans had a profound effect on him and that he has a protective attitude towards a freshman quarterback. I agree with you, Emmitt, and alot of other posters that Vizza is the best option right now. He gets a buzz going with the fans and the team. He seems to be poised beyond his years. He has better arm strength and better pocket presence and I think he could be one of the great NT quarterbacks of all time before all is said and done. I just know that Dodge is treating him with kid gloves right now and I will give Coach Dodge the benefit of the doubt.
  18. http://www.meangreensports.com/ViewArticle...;ATCLID=1251578 Juett's Hat Trick Powers Mean Green Soccer To Victory DENTON (9/28/07) - Kendall Juett posted a hat trick to lead the North Texas soccer team to a 7-0 victory against Louisiana-Monroe on Friday night at the North Texas Soccer Field. The Mean Green (7-2, 1-0) snapped a two-game losing streak with the win and started Sun Belt Conference play with a victory. North Texas is now 11-0 in the series against the Warhawks and 8-0 in conference-opening games. Juett posted her second career hat trick in the victory. Both of her three-goal games have come against the Warhawks. It was also the fourth multi-goal game of her career. With her seven points tonight, Juett now leads the team with 20 points this season. Freshman Janaye Woods sparked the offense at the start of the game. Attacking down the right side, Woods found Brittany Cleveland in front of the goal in the sixth minute to put North Texas ahead, 1-0. Cleveland then found Juett a minute later to make it 2-0. Cleveland finished the game with three points, while Woods posted two goals and an assist for five points. Juett gave North Texas a 6-0 lead going into the half with her third goal of the game. Her assist in the game came off a corner kick at the 33rd minute, which Dani Slavonic was able to put her head on. Heather Hutyra dished out two assists in the game. The two assists moves her into sole possession of sixth place in the career assists list with 21. North Texas outshot the Warhawks, 26-9. The Mean Green has posted five shutouts this season. Kandice Ellis and Amanda Hall shared the shutout in goal for the Mean Green. North Texas returns to action on Sunday, Sept. 30 when it faces Louisiana-Lafayette at noon at the North Texas Soccer Field.
  19. Dodge does not beleive in throwing freshman(especially quarterbacks due to their high profile) to the wolves due in large part to his own experiences at UT. He has stated before that when he didn't perform to expectations his freshman year that he got roasted by fans and the media unmercifully. He understands first hand what that can do to the confidence and development of a young man and he doesn't want to let that happen to his young players. Yes I know that this isn't the pressure cooker that UT is but Dodge is leary of hurting the development of his players. He will bring Vizza along as he sees fit by giving him enough playing time each week to get him used to the speed at this level. LaLa will look like they are runinng in sand compared to Arkansas.
  20. To quote the article, "It offered Franchione's candid assessments of players and specific injury information, details Franchione routinely declined to discuss publicly because, he would say, it is not "our policy" to disclose injuries.
  21. My wife is an Aggie grad so A&M is my 2nd team(yes people are allowed to have secondary teams). While I am glad that Coach Fran may be leaving, I shudder to think what sanctions, if any, the NCAA could hand down for this.
  22. He was dressed and on the sidelines.
  23. You're kidding right? SMU scored 45 on us. FAU scored 30 on us. I think that Arkansas is light years ahead of both of those teams.
  24. TD's quote was actually "Someones fight song is about to be played"
