It is the fabled "stealth" hiring process. All this time and DD STILL has his hands in the NT cookie jar.

Ull Booting Bustle At The End Of The Season ?
Eagle-96 replied to MeanGreen61's topic in Mean Green Football
My source tells me that Orgeron is a smart man if he said that. -
If we just take the interim tag off of him based on the last few games without actually searching for a coach then we have not learned a thing as a school, an administration, and a fan base. Listen, I like what I have seen from Chico and I do notice the changes, but let's tap the brakes a bit. All Coach C has done is thrown his name in the hat and made it hard to ignore him.

No offense GGB beacuse I certainly appreciate all that the Green Guys did, and do, in promotion of the team. But there is simply NO excuse why KNTU did not broadcast the game. None. KNTU should have the UNT football game on regardless.

What do you buy a MUT who just placed 2nd in the big race? A championship ring and a new banner

With all of the infighting around the coaching search and campaign-gate we have forgotten the most important thing of all this week. MUTS SUX. We have failed. We could have been slamming them all week(me included) but we spit our venom at each other. Let's redeem ourselves and spread the gospel that we hate us some MUTS. What do you call a resident of Murfreesboro who has 8 teeth? A dentist What do you call it when Dwight Dasher audibles on a blitz read? Hot check

If A Wrong Hire Again-Will There Be A Split Down
Eagle-96 replied to PlummMeanGreen's topic in Mean Green Football
There have been worse splits in the past on this and all of the other iterations of the board. Hell, we we even split into separate boards for a while. I am sure there will be other fights and hissy fits in the future and if there weren't, the board would be pretty boring. I'm sure we'll all(or at least most) come together after this is done in a couple of weeks and find something else to get riled about. It's the GMG way and I wouldn't have it any other way. So to prepare for the next battle royal: SOW on the helmet anyone? What color should we use; Kelly or Forest Anyone interested in any blue or orange accent colors? WAC, Conference USA, Mountain West Can TD give Shanice a ride out of town? -
If This Hire Goes Bad-- Whose Reputation In

Maybe I wasn't clear enough regarding question 2. My intent in the question included support overall, not just money. I have seen posts to the effect of "If we hire(insert controversial coach) I will no longer support this team" or "If we hire so and so then I am out". I take statements like that to mean that some "fans" will no longer support the team monetarily but they will simply stop supporting the team with their hearts and minds. I did not mean to offend anyone.

Doesn't really address question 2.

There are many camps on the board right now: Pro Canales Anti Canales Pro Campaigning Anti Campaigning Pro coordinator Pro head coaching experience Anti coach with baggage Let's lay it out there: 1. Who or what type of coach is your top choice right now. 2. Will you raise or lower your level of support(money, time, tickets etc...) based on who we hire. 1. I really want someone with previous head coaching experince as it is so much different from coordinating. A head coach is more like the CEO or administrator at the college level. I would lean towards Leavitt or Fran as they have done it before and done it at a high level. 2. I will not lower my support regardless of who we hire as I bleed green regardless of what our record or who is leading this team.

Concerns: We have been a little sloppy with the turnovers. We have to be better with the ball and not go in thinking we can beat teams by just showing up. We are a great free throw shooting team and have been for a while. We need to start acting like it as we should be up by a wide margin right now. Upside: We are playing some great in-bounds defense. I am very pleased with the backcourt pressur we are applying. We are starting to pull away in the 2nd half by protecting the ball better and hitting our 3s. We need to make these kinds of runs and bury teams of a lesser caliber. Wow. Welcome back Dominique. That is the shot in the arm we need.

If you don't get help at Trembling Hills, please get help somewhere.

BTW our very own Deep Throat only said that it was a coach currently on the staff at FSU. We just assumed it was Stoops based on him being the biggest and most recognizable name. So you have several more coaches to sully the good names of. I should think that you would use your time more wisely. Carry on and happy hunting.
-
Ego? Seriously? What is he five years old and he wants to one up his brothers and be the neatest Stoops brother of em all? So Stoops is in his first year at FSU so that would naturally preclude him from lowering himself to take the job at NT? If your argument is about taking less money or wanting to be a part of what Fisher is building at a once proud FSU then I'll buy that. But ego?

The Tuesday Night Elections
Eagle-96 replied to UNT90's topic in The Eagles Nest (There Should be Pie For Everyone Forum)
I thought BTO said: And I'll be... Taking care of business every day Taking care of business every way I've been taking care of business, it's all mine Taking care of business and working overtime Work out -
Anyone know which three players were left in Denton? Hopefully it is a wakeup call to the team that you can lead, follow, or get out of the way.

And I heart you too, to, and 2.

Yes dude really. To me the Alma Mater is something special and something I hold in pretty high esteem. I have no problem with celebrating but take a pause while the other team pays respect to their school.
-
Huge win for Tulsa with the victory at Notre Dame. Biggest in their schools history. I really love when the underdog wins. Then they lost me as Notre Dame starts to play their Alma Mater there goes the Tulsa band with their fight song trying to play over the Notre Dame band. Just classless all around. Maybe I'm old school but I would hope the Green Brigade would never do that to another school.

Both Leavitt and Leach were terminated last season for accusations of player mistreatment. They lost high profile jobs and their reputations suffered greatly but I am one to say that everyone deserves a 2nd chance. We can debate which coach perpetrated a more egregious offense. We can debate how accurate the reports are regarding the incidents. But one thing I hope we can come to an agreement on is that 2nd chances are an important part of life. I know I have made mistakes in the past much like most of the people reading this post. I know that some people take a 2nd chance, make the most of it and move on with heir lives for the better. I also know that there are some that take a 2nd chance and never learn a thing only to make the same mistakes. We will never know until that person is given anothr chance. I know I am glad that Ron Washington was given a 2nd chance. I don't condone what Leavitt is accused of but I think he would be a tremendous hire and one that can take us to the levels that so many on this board have only dreamed of in their wildest of dreams. Leavitt built that program at USF with a double wide and a borrowed stadium. Just imagine what he could do here with the temple being built across the street. I think he sees the potential and he wants in.
