FIWho: 37 NT: 28 FIWho was the best team in the Sunbelt last season and they are at home. This will not be an easy task. Hilton is a beast and we will run more man coverage this year which may be dangerous if we can't get a good push up front and get some heat on the QB. Dunbar and Co. will be fine and I feel that we will be able to move the ball and score some points but I just think that we are not quite there yet. One thing for sure is that DanMac will have his team prepared and we will not be surprised or caught off guard by anything FIWho does.

This is the very reason that we all need to soak up some Lance Dunbar this season. After all is said and done he will very likely be the most prolific running back in Mean Green history. Although we will all miss his greatness after this year, we will look forward to him plying his trade on Sundays in 2012.

I have waited 17 long years for September 10th. Waited through the plauges of crickets, the urine troughs in the unbearably hot bathrooms, the warm Cokes, terrible sightlines, the peeling paint. I know there are many posters who have waited much much longer. Hellfire, there are some that have waited 50+ years. I wonder if when the I am in my seat and I take in the atmosphere. The first rate band on a first rate field. The team touching Spiriki when they run on to the field. When I realize that Apogee is not just an internet board dream. I wonder if there will be a sports-cry. Not sure if I will be able to contain myself. I wonder how many of you feel the same. Disclaimer: It is extremely manly and macho to cry when it is related sports and/or the Mean Green.

Ok, forget the North Texas chant stuff

The screech was loud at Fouts. Imagine how loud it will be at Apogee. Can't wait tho hear how loud it will get in there. We will finally have the home field advantage that so many of us have wanted for so long. -
What are the plans for parking, traffic flow, and pedestrain traffic for the Houston game. Where will fans be allowed to park across I-35. Will there be new signage and what plans are being made to keep incoming and outgoing traffic flowing at a good pace. Will there be any shuttles going across 35. Anyone who remembers the Baylor game remembers the traffic nightmares for a game with an attendance of this size. I know it's a good problem to have.

Congratulation to Rick Villarreal, Hank Dickenson
Eagle-96 replied to UNTLifer's topic in Mean Green Football
Also Congrats to UNTFlyer and the rest of the SGA for all of their hard work in getting Apogee Stadium built via the student fee. Thanks go out to the students that voted for the fee that made this possible. Thanks to the current students(and/or their parents) for helping to foot the bill through the fee. Finally thanks to the Houston Cougars for helping us to open Apogee by getting their arses kicked on September 10. -
Yes, you are the only one. This move will pay for the coaching staff's salary for the next 20 years. Great move without question. UNT is not small time anymore. We are making the moves to become relevant again and it's time for the college football world to take notice.

Lord please don't let it be Summers Eve or Tampax. -
I regret that I can only give you 1 +1 for this post. Both teams will have to pick their poison. FIU will stack the box to stop LD and hope we don't kill them with the play-action. We will provide safety help for TH and hope they don't kill us with the run. The coach that makes the best adjustments will come out on top. I like our chances with DanMac.

1. Robertson is a stadium that even an MLS team is embarrassed to play in. It is a glorified high school stadium built in 1942. Even Stevie Wonder thinks it looks like a piece of crap. 2. Who cares what houston fans think about our new palace. We've waited far too long for this to become a reality to worry about what a team that plays in a stadium that makes Fouts look like the Taj Mahal thinks. If you switched from driving an exploding Pinto to a Corvette but your neighbor, who rides a burro around town, says he prefers Porches to Corvettes would you give a f£#% about his opinion? I know I don't.

Sad news as a fan who fell from the left field stands to the concrete 20 feet below has died from his injuries. A foul ball was hit to left field and bounced into the field of play. Josh Hamilton tossed the ball into the stands as a souvenir like every other fielder does. The fan reached for the ball and fell over the railing behind the scoreboard headfirst. Apparently the fan was conscious and talking as he was taken away by ambulance but later died. Sadly his young son witnessed the fall. Thoughts and prayers to the friends and family of the fan and to Josh Hamilton as this must weigh heavy on his mind and he is understandably distraught.

Canada having it's strongest team ever is like saying Shasta has a new and improved flavor. If the US does not win this group going away then Bob Bradley has some 'splainin to do. -
The funny thing is, this bit would only be amuzing to Bob Zmuda.
