Coaching Search Ticker-North Texas Candidates
Eagle-96 replied to dml7007's topic in Mean Green Football
You read it correctly this morning. There are 2 separate links. Coaching Search Tracker quoted the Fox Sports article but just left out the Jay Norvell part in their tidbit. -
I thought the thread title was Ric Flair on campus today. WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!

Coaching Search Ticker-North Texas Candidates
Eagle-96 replied to dml7007's topic in Mean Green Football
The article refers to both Mike and Jay. " I’m hearing the North Texas coaching search is progressing. A few of the names I’m told are in the mix: Baylor OC Kendal Briles, a 2006 grad of Houston; Arizona State OC Mike Norvell and James Madison coach Everett Withers. Another potential option for UNT is Texas play-caller Jay Norvell." -
Coaching Search Ticker-North Texas Candidates

James Madison Offensive stats: Passing offense is ranked 19th at 284 yards per game Rushing offense is ranked 4th at 309 yards per game Scoring offense is ranked 1st at 48 points per game Total Offense is ranked 1st at 593 yards per game I don't think offense is a problem for a Whithers coached team -

Yes he did. Could also be his agent floating his name to get RVs attention when he isn't on our radar. UT's probably floating Jay Norvell's name so he will go away. -
So does anyone REALLY think we will win an appeal. We don't have the greatest appeal track record. BTW is this an NCAA or CUSA appeal?

If Chico gets the job then he will most likely keep a majority of the current staff and that is a major problem. We cannot expect to move forward if we keep anyone from the current staff save Perry and Patrick.

I think the refs felt pressure to even the ejection score after their player was tossed for the retaliation earlier. Only logical explanation at this point. I think the receiver caused this by ducking while McClain was already in his tackling motion. I believe he now misses the first half of the LaTech game.

Serious question. If Fritz was hired and brought the triple option. Would you complain if he won 10 games in 2017 but was last in the nation in passing. I wouldn't and neither would anyone else. I don't care how we get it done at this point as long as we get it done. The new coach can run the wing T with a 23 scadoo for all I care. Like Al Davis said, Just win baby.

We get it. You like RV. Most of the rest of us don't. You have a lot of disposable income. Most of the rest of us don't. No need to call anyone a clown.

Minority coaches that deserve a shot
Eagle-96 replied to Coach Bill Lewis's topic in Mean Green Football
I agree whole heartedly just saying that RV will probably provide a token interview to a minority. -
Minority coaches that deserve a shot
Eagle-96 replied to Coach Bill Lewis's topic in Mean Green Football
The NCAA sent a directive to universities a few years ago on this topic and strongly suggested that schools interview minority candidates. The directive has no punishment for non-compliance like the NFL's Rooney rule does so schools don't have to comply. Look for at least one minority interview whether wrong or right. Look for someone like Frank Wilson out of LSU to get an interview. -

Poor nUTSAck "fans" they just have a case of stadium envy. Their stadium is shite and their only comeback is that they host international stuff in the Alamodome. Nobody cares what events you host their because YOU DONT OWN IT. Your poor little school gets no revenue from the dome and it is actually a drain on the school. But CC is right that there ARE P5 and G5 stadiums that are nicer than ours but EVERY stadium is nicer than theirs.

And people wonder why they refer to us as pUNT.

It kind of falls under the store/restaurant in a failed location bit. If multiple business fail at a location then the location itself takes on a bad moniker. Another business goes in and, even though it may be a great business, people will tend to say "nothing ever makes it there"(we've all said it). The new business will likely fail as well based on location perception. This is the place we are currently stuck in for some poeple I think.
