Hold on Hold on hold on. So who are you gonna root for next year when WE play Florida? I followed TCU and Florida State football when I was a kid and into high school. The MINUTE I stepped on the campus of the greatest university on earth. I became a UNT fan in ALL sports and have forsaken any allegiance I had to ANY other school. I can't, for the life of me, understand why others don't do the same. The ONLY exception to the rule is the allowance of secondary rooting for the school your spouse attended.

Pros: Innovator of the 23-Scadoo offense Lowered season ticket prices to two bits. Finished with a 3-4 coaching record in football which is much better than most every coach since. Cons: Got hooked on the China White and ran across campus one day wearing only a straw hat(It just wasn't on his head.) Yelling that he wanted someone to "Raise his Titanic".

I expect we'll get more real football posts when we start playing real football in spring.

Nah, not his apologist. He's doing just fine explaining himself you're just not listening very well. If you cared to pay attention you'd realize that UNT90 was in constant contact with the Gofundme group and they discussed the move and agreed to fly it today. That's not a bait and switch. That's a discussion by a group followed by an agreement to change the timing of an event. Again I don't think the phrases you're using mean what you think they do. Not bent out of shape at all. I feel pretty good today. I understand your stance. Positivity regarding all things Mean Green athletics. NO MATTER WHAT. The problem is that at this point it has turned into the band playing on the deck of the Titanic as it sinks. Kram, you are allowed to be critical of RV just like I am allowed to show RV some love. I promise. I'll start. RV's plan and implementation of the Mean Green village on Bonnie Brae is great. I applaud him for that. Listen, we are all after the same thing. The betterment of UNT. We are just going about it in different ways. You feel your way is right, I feel that UNT90's way is right.

Why be ashamed? RV isn't too ashamed to cash his paychecks.

Not to be a downer but everyone does realize that if/when the media reports this, someone(I'm looking at you Sidway) will ask RV what his response is. And everyone realizes that he will minimize and spin the hell out of this to make us look as bad as possible. I'm just curious as to what adjective he will use to describe us. You are right Kram, it IS just a message board. I'm not sure irony means what you think it means though. Irony would be UNT90 promising the banner would fly and then simply not delivering at all(we'll go back to the seat back example for simplicity purposes). Irony would be the banner not flying and then UNT90 saying that he never said it would(scheduling). See how that works?

See, here's the difference. UNT90 looked at the situation and said "I know the plan was to fly the banner at the UTEP game, but is there a way to get more visibility. A way to get the banner out on a day when there are fewer sports headlines, thus garnering more attention. A way to get more bang for the buck. A way to get it in front of more than 2000 sad nut-punched fans? That's a big difference than a broken promise. It's one thing to break an agreement(seat backs anyone?). It's an entirely different thing to change the agreement for an even better deal. You see, UNT90 sees a problem and the actually tries to fix it. He looks for solutions to make lemonade out of lemons. It's really a novel idea that RV may want to try out. Aww heck Wally, we only have 28 more months of this to go anyway. And keep in mind, RV is making several hundred thousand dollars a year to do the bang-up job he's doing. UNT90 is trying to better this athletic department free of charge.

South Alabama has an RPI of 16 and are 26th in the coaches poll. UNT has an RPI of 36 and are 31st in the coaches poll. Looks like USA is a host based on their good RPI.
