I went back and read Vito's MGB report and he states that one of the finalists has been told they won't be contacted until after our game ends on Saturday. This probably pushes the timeframe until sometime next week.

1. I watched the Mac, Dodge, and Benford introductory press conferences sober. 2. I took a ghost pepper and crushed glass enema. 3. I watched Kim Kardashians first "video" with my grandma at her church. 4. I replaced all of the meats at Jimmy Johns with Steak-Um and Vegemite. He didn't even notice, ate it in 3 seconds. 5. I believed(again) that THIS would be our year.

Scholarships are a year to year thing. Coaches can pull scholarships after the year is up but usually don't if it is only based on on-field performance. A new coach that comes in and starts pulling ships will piss off the high school coaches that he has to rely on for recruiting help. The new coach is going to need all the good will he can muster with a short recruiting season and purging the roster is not the way to go.

I agree on Meacham. Meacham - Already knows the DFW recruiting landscape. Calls the plays for TCU. Maybe the one out of the group that needs to take a head coaching job now because of his age. Cumbie - Maybe not as polished as Meacham as he doesn't call plays at TCU. Spavital - May need the job the most as he is rumored to be out at Texas A&M. Might have gotten caught up in Sumlin's playing time promises which caused in-house strife. Applewhite - Has been at multiple programs and learned from multiple head coaches. Understands what it takes to win at a G5 school.

So now Thomsen and Jinks are out. Its pointing more and more towards: Meacham Cumbie Spavital Applewhite

In one final middle finger to UNT90, RV will unveil Todd Fitch of Boston College as our new head coach. Just so we could have an even worse offense than we have had the past 5 years. He'll then sign Tony Benford to a 5 year extension. Drops mic.

Could Assistant/Associate head coaches be included? This would include Chris Thomsen and Mike Jinks

Would a Mike Norvell HC with Mike Jinks as OC be impressive. How about Cumbie and Jinks.

Serious questions. 1. Are there any young OCs(P5 or G5) you would be ok with and 2. Does your stance on a young P5 OC change depending on who he brings with him to be OC and DC?

It seems that the only public interest we have had is coaches coming out and saying they have no interest in the job. I hope the mystery candidate not in the FOI request is for real cause I don't think I can handle getting an inside receivers coach from a DII school as our next head coach.

Listen, coaches talk to each other. I can guarantee that prospective coaches have spoken to Mac. I don't think mac would be vindictive towards UNT but I do believe he would be honest regarding working for RV, recruiting to UNT, etc... There are some coaches that may shy away from the challenge but we don't need those type of coaches. We need a coach who looks at the "challenges" and tells them to kiss his ass and then gets to work in building this program back up, leaves for a P5 in a few years and then we re-load.

If Dickey is offered the full time job it would be hard to pass up. It gets him back in into the head coaching spot and comes with a pay raise. The questions are does Dickey want the pressure and responsibility again. And will his salary as OC at Tech be comparable to his salary as a head coach at Memphis. He is currently making around $245K.
