This is what scares me. Getting left at the alter.

They see what you did there

Go back and look at the bench press rep numbers from the last few UNT pro days for a good laugh.
-
This tells me a few things: 1. "Two industry sources said that UNT would likely not hire Meacham, including one who said a lot would have to change for UNT to head in that direction" That to me means that its either a money or contract years issue with Meacham and the two sides are not close. We have probably moved on and are focusing on Littrell. 2. "A source close to Littrell suggested that the sides have already discussed parameters of a contract, one that could be ready to be finalized" This probably means Littrell's agent is ironing out the deal while Seth is back in North Carolina gameplanning. Once the deal is agreed to in principal I believe the BOR has to approve which means we will likely see an emergency meeting called to approve money.

Proof of how bad things were in the locker room...
Eagle-96 replied to Ryan Munthe's topic in Mean Green Football
Thanks for the insight SSP. We need an attitude change in that locker room. If the players aren't on board then there is the door, good luck in FCS. I am tired of seeing guys on the sideline goofing off and having a grand old time when we are getting plowed on the field. It is EMBARRASSING. There is nothing funny about getting your ass whipped. Don't get me wrong, there are some players who give a crap and have some pride in their play. We just need more of them. -
We root for ONE school and ONE school only! 2nd school, WTF is that?

Like what? Fear of commitment , daddy issues, authority issues. Question. No info

I know I posted in another thread that Fedora doesn't want any distractions so they won't announce until after the ACC championship game on Saturday but what happens if UNC beats #1 Clemson on Saturday and sneaks into the CFB. 1. Littrell may garner interest from some bigger fish after beating Clemson and we may be left out in the cold with both Meacham and Littrell gone. Hello Bruce Chambers. 2. We may not get Littrell until after January because he is preparing UNC for the National Championship which seriously hampers our recruiting efforts.(I know Herrman pulled double duty at Ohio State and Houston, but that may not be the case here) After considering this scenario I think we want an announcement ASAP so we don't get kicked in the nuts.

UNC still has an outside chance of making it into the CFB if some things fall their way. Fedora needs zero distractions for his staff, and this would be a big one. EDIT: After seeing the "Meacham Pulls Out" thread I have reconsidered. You are right Travis. We need an agreement from Littrell NOW.

"We love Rick Villarreal" banner coming soon

We have already made it to China. -

Patrick has failed with the DLine. We have 19 sacks this year, 65 tackles for loss, 120th ranked rushing defense, 98th ranked red zone defense. Patrick has not done his job. Tommy Perry has a shot at being retained. We could also see Byrd, Ybarbo, or Summerfield promoted.

It IS the Startle Gram though so there's that.

Article appears to be from last night.

This says two things. 1. Upping the $$$ involved has attracted a much better pool of candidates than we have had in the past. We have interviewed 3 OCs from some of the most dynamic P5 offenses in the country. Last time around we wouldn't have sniffed these types of coaches. A thank you to the BOR and President are in order for upping the ante. 2. We are not settling for scraps. We are taking the plunge this time around. You never know if the prom queen wants to go out on a date if you don't ask her.

Scott has been pretty spot on in his Twitter feed all the way back to breaking the Mac firing. I think he is more honest and forthcoming in his writing/blogging/opinions than most that feed off of the UNT teet because he is an older grad student and not some 18-19 year old kid that can be easily intimidated by those in the UNT administration/athletic department. It is a breath of fresh air. During this whole saga the 2 people that have had the most accurate info have been Scott Sidway of the NT Daily(@ScottyWK) and Zach Barnett of footballscoop(@zach_barnett). Their Twitter feeds are well worth the follow.

NOBODY knows except Meacham and Smatresk. Reporters want to be the one to BREAK the story but are hedging their bets intra-story.

brett vito Monday afternoon coach search update
Eagle-96 replied to Harry's topic in Mean Green Football
We now have zero leverage if this is true. Littrell(if he is indeed a finalist) can pretty much ask for 5 or 6 years and we will give it to him at this point. If Litrell falls through then Hello Bruce Chambers and Goodbye program. -
Got A Guess How Many Years The New Coach Gets?
Eagle-96 replied to FirefightnRick's topic in Mean Green Football
The only leverage we have is playing the two candidates off of each other and that could backfire into having zero candidates if we aren't careful. 4 or 5 years will be the contract length with 5 being the most likely. We are a bottom of the barrel G5 with 2 outstanding coaches who want to be here. Let's not parlay this into Bruce Chambers because we are stubborn on 1 year.
