  1. footballscoop.com has named Seth Littrell as a finalist for FBS Offensive Coordinator of the year. The Football Scoop Coach of the Year awards are the only set of coaching awards chosen entirely by their peers. Congratulations to coach Littrell and good luck. Seth Littrell - North Carolina Lincoln Riley - Oklahoma Chip Lindsey - Southern Miss Tyson Helton - Western Kentucky
  2. For me, I didn't feel this way for Mac. I had concerns around the record and the personal stuff. I convinced myself that "He won in Ames" and that alleviated some of the concern but I didn't have this feeling I do with Littrell. With Littrell I see this as a stepping stone job. A job that he wants desperately to succeed in so that he can move on in 3-4 years to a better job. Let's just hope he can overcome the obstacles that have been in the way of UNT coaches even well before RV was on the scene.
  3. Any thoughts on how he does/does not fit the Air Raid system. What are your thoughts on him in general. Seems to have had some pretty good offers out of high school as well as good size.
  4. QB Coleman Key a redshirt freshman for Colorado State is transferring. Coleman was a 3 star pro style QB out of Broken Arrow Oklahoma. He had offers from Colorado State, Illinois, Houston, Toledo, Western Michigan, Arkansas State, and North Texas. He saw action in 6 games this season as a back up. Maybe Seth uses his Oklahoma connections to bring in a QB for 2017.
  5. I said the same thing to my wife and she said, "You are a complete disappointment. You bring nothing to this marriage. You're ugly you're stupid you're everything I despise about men. Why are we still married?"
  6. Tulsa losing Gilbert could sway Johnson our way.
  7. Yep. It was the OU staff that were laughing at our high school schemes. Let that sink in. They were literally laughing out loud in the booth at us. They could have beaten is 100-0 if they wanted to. Dodge could recruit but couldn't do anything else even competently.
  8. UT is a train wreck right now
  9. More money. Multiple bid BBall conference. New Mexico, Nevada, and San Diego State are more attractive than ODU, Charlotte and the F_U's. CUSA is turning into the Belt Redux at this point especially if Rice and UTEP leave.
  10. Yeah but probably better for his progression.
  11. Ok ok. A competent administration that has the schools best interests would.
  12. It's a better conference and the administration would say yes to the MWC before the sentence was even finished. The MWC is higher up the food chain whether we want to believe it or not. We would travel just as far to play MWC teams(Sand Diego and San Jose) as we would AAC(Philadelphia and Connecticut) and who here would turn down the AAC? Starting games late is not an excuse. I would watch us play at 3 in the morning and so should you. The tv deals for the 2 conferences are similar but the NCAA tournament and bowl game payouts are better in the MWC.
  13. Tulane is in a better conference plain and simple. Tulane is a better job right now. It sucks but it is the truth. If Fritz wasn't interested in the UNT job then so be it. We have our coach and they have theirs.
  14. Every indication is that he is still headed to UNT to coach the WR. He said his goodbye to Coach Leach on twitter yesterday(@CoachFilaWSU).
  15. Anyone heard about parameters from their sources?
  16. Another thing to remember is how important the Offensive Line is to the air raid system. Mike leach called it the most important position on the field in his system. We will need athletic lineman who work well in space as the splits are night and day different from what Mac was doing.
  17. footballscoop.com is reporting that Seth Littrell is targeting Graham Harrell as the OC at UNT. ETA: @zach_barnett of the footballscoop staff is reporting this as of 5 minutes ago. Not up on the scoop yet.
  18. The audio is around the 30 minute mark. It was uncomfortable to listen to him talk(or not talk) about attendance. Lots of uhhhhs, stuttering, and ya knows. Generally rambling. Talked about Littrell helping attendance. Just alot of talking in circles. The only substance was basically saying "We won in 2013 and had flyers at the bowl game. The fans didn't show up." RV was, in no way, prepared for that kind of question. Probably thought the podcast was gonna be bubblegum, unicorns, and talk about Littrell. Also, It also sounded like either he or the board is losing their patience with Benford. I thought his tone was much more somber about TB's future than it has been.
  19. Best part was the 5 minute incoherent nonsensical rant from RV when asked about what he is gonig to do about attendance.
  20. A few factors that point to 24-25K being realistic. 1. It will be the home opener. We can count on 19-20K for home openers even during hard times. 2. This will be the season opener also. No previous weeks road beatdown to drive away casual fans. Everyone has the same record in this scenario. We're all 0-0. 3. A new coach brings hope. Add to this an exciting brand of offensive football. No more 3 yards and a cloud of pellets to bore the fans to tears. 4. Fans want to see a local opponent. We drew 22K in 2014 to an 11:00 am kickoff in near 100 degree temps.
  21. I wonder if/when Freedom of Information requests have been filed(I'm looking at you Vito) to get details on the Littrell contract. We know it is for 5 years but I am curious as to the base pay, incentives, TV/Radio money. I am also curious as to the buyout clause as, if all goes well, we will be using this when a P5 steals him away from us. My guess is in the $1 million range all told.
