Easiest way to think of it is if you think it could, in any way shape or form, be a violation at all Don't Do It. The NCAA has no rhyme nor reason to what they consider violations and are the most inequitable enforcement organization on planet earth. As fans I would stay away from ALL contact with prospective student-athletes. ETA: Top 10 Things You Need to Know 1. ALWAYS ASK BEFORE YOU ACT! Breaking NCAA rules can render prospects and student-athletes ineligible for competition. The NCAA holds the university accountable for the actions of its fans and friends. 2. You MAY NOT make recruiting contacts with prospects, their relatives or legal guardians. A prospective student-athlete is a student who has started classes for the ninth grade (7th grade for Men’s Basketball) or above. This prohibition includes written and telephone communications. 3. You MAY NOT contact a prospect’s coach, principal, or counselor in an attempt to evaluate the prospect. 4. You MAY send newspaper clippings and other information about talented prospects to the designated coaching staff. Also, you MAY continue established relationships with friends and neighbors whose children are prospects or current student-athletes, provided the relationship pre-dates reaching prospect status and is not based on their status as an athlete. 5. You MAY attend high school or junior college competitions provided no contact occurs with the prospect or the prospect’s relatives. 6. You MAY NOT entertain any coach from a junior or senior high school, preparatory school, or junior college or provide them with tickets or any other type of benefit. 7. You MAY NOT become involved in arranging for a prospect, a current student-athlete or their family to receive gifts, money or financial benefits of any kind. 8. You MAY NOT provide transportation to a prospect, student-athlete or their friends and family. Also, you MAY NOT spend funds to entertain prospects, student-athletes or their friends and family. 9. You MAY employ a student-athlete provided you are paying them only for the work they actually perform, paying the going rate for similar services, are not paying them or providing perks based on their status as a student-athlete and the employment has been approved by the Compliance Office. 10.You MAY NOT use a photo or name of a student-athlete for commercial purposes or sell student-athlete memorabilia.

'15 DE Joseph Ozougwu (Houston-Alief Taylor)

Granted, this info is straight from meangreensports.com and the same article that misspelled two of the players names so I would take it with a grain of salt. -
'15 DE Joseph Ozougwu (Houston-Alief Taylor)
Eagle-96 replied to BillySee58's topic in UNT Football Recruiting
From meangreensports.com Ozougwe finished his senior season with 78 tackles, 12 tackles for loss and eight sacks. He was an all-district 23-5A player and a team captain. He enrolled at North Texas in the fall and will join in the football team in the spring. -
Littrell uses the Tight End/H-Back in his offense and he has said as such. In every stop he has been an OC going back to 2009 he has also coached Tight ends and H-backs/fullbacks. You will primarily see Littrell use more of a hybrid TE/H-back player that is used more in motion and/or offset from the OT's. Think of an Andy Blount type player that can catch the ball and stretch the field in the seam. More of a downfield blocker on safeties and LBs.

Littrell And The Mean Green Ink Three Players
Eagle-96 replied to MeanGreenDan's topic in UNT Football Recruiting
Henson is a good get with him having multiple offers from G5 and P5. I like this pick-up. Wheeler shows good on film and had really good production at the JUCO level. I think Ozougwu was more about honoring a prior staff's commitment. This goes a long way in building trust with high school coaches. -
Great name for a 70's buddy cop show.

Littrell And The Mean Green Ink Three Players
Eagle-96 replied to MeanGreenDan's topic in UNT Football Recruiting
This. It usually takes a JUCO until about game 6 or 7 of their junior year before they get used to the speed and physicality of FBS football and that's if they are mid-term players eligible for spring ball. It's the senior year that they really make an impact. One exception to this rule was the great Darrell Daniels but he was a beast that comes around once a generation. Even Michael Pruitt needed half a season to get in a groove on his way to the All-Time Team. -

Littrell And The Mean Green Ink Three Players
Eagle-96 replied to MeanGreenDan's topic in UNT Football Recruiting
Wheeler shows good skill at using his hands to shed blockers. He used good speed to avoid most blocks. Will be good stunting and may be a good DE in zone blitzes as he seems to move well. Doesn't give up on plays. -

I am making a big assumption that Littrell will coach TEs.

I based it solely off of their titles on meangreensports.com so I am not sure.

Did they increase the GA numbers because we had 4 last season with Byrd, Ybarbo, Summerfield, and Sheffield.

Mike Ekeler - LB Coach Georgia - It's official!
Eagle-96 replied to El Paso Eagle's topic in Mean Green Football
I believe the limit is still 9 assistant coaches and 4 GA's. If that's the case then it will hinge on the combination of duties like Special Teams and one other position(like Perry does now) Littrell could decide to combine S/CB or IWR/OWR. He may want to give up TE duties as well.- 185 replies

A UNT baseball team would not be enough to sway a talent of Kyler's magnitude.

MGB: Watch out for this name for UNT's O-line coach
Eagle-96 replied to Brett Vito's topic in Mean Green Football
Uh Oh! Spent 5 years at Portland State Seriously though. 2015 ECU - Offensive Line and Run Game Coordinator 2013-2014 James Madison - Offensive Line and Co-Offensive Coordinator 2008- 2012 Portland State - Offensive Line and Co-Offensive Coordinator He has experience as an O-line coach as well as a run-game coordinator. He has coached both FCS and G5 and has experience in the Pistol. -
If he doesn't go back to baseball then look at TCU or Baylor as possible landing spots for him. Can't hurt for Littrell to talk to him but he is probably out of our range.
