  1. So you are saying Wallace would have cracked Bama's two deep? My point is that We have very little talent on this roster. And we must take these kinds of chances to improve our talent especially at a key position. Wallace transferred and was only a serviceable player. Trice transferred and was one of the best safeties to play here in a long time. One worked, one didn't. It is indeed a crapshoot. Alec Morris improves our talent at a key position. It may not workout but the current crop of QBs hasn't worked either. What do you propose we do? Throw our hands up and just hope a light clicks on in Smith?
  2. Right, and everyone else on our team wouldn't make the travel squad. We are bereft of talent save for RB and possibly the defensive backfield. Alec Morris is an upgrade at a key position. Rome was not built in a day and it will take time to build the roster up. Alec Morris is a great start.
  3. Ok then. What if he handled his the exact same was Starkel did. Would you turn down a 5 star recruit?
  4. He will have one season remaining after sitting out 2016. 2017 will be it.
  5. So if 5-star OL Gregory Little from Allen came out and said I've re-opened my recruiting to play closer to home and narrowed it down to Baylor, Texas A&M, TCU, and UNT you'd tell him no thanks? Just checking.
  6. I believe Kincade also stated that he wanted to be closer to home to take care of his mom but didn't specify further than that. So Ole Miss would seem to be out in that scenario.
  7. The only caveat to that is if it's a combo deal then TCU has Kenny Hill in 2016 and 2017. That might sway Kincade away from TCU. Again, if its between UNT, SMU, and TCU then it comes down to playing time vs a chance at winning a national title.
  8. That's a good position to be in. We want to be where we can reload with QBs that have been back-ups and grown physically and mentally while watching junior and senior starters. We don't want to have to be in a position to have to throw a true freshman to dogs.
  9. I was referring to UNT90 and Emmitt's wager that Alec will have a better senior year than DT did. If that's the case then the below numbers are what Alec has to beat. Comp Att Pct Yards Yds / Att TD Int 251 390 64.4 2896 7.4 16 13 BTW: http://www.sports-reference.com/cfb/schools/north-texas/ A great site for stats. It has UNT stats going back to 1995.
  10. OK so the mark to beat is: Comp Att Pct Yards Yds / Att TD Int 251 390 64.4 2896 7.4 16 13
  11. That's my best guess also. Closer to home for both of them. SMU is bad and will afford the same early playing time opportunities that UNT will.
  12. Good for Alec for deflecting questions about UNT. He is committed to the team he is playing for right now. That team is Alabama. If things don't go Alabama's way in terms of injuries then Alec could find himself actually playing in the National Championship game. Let's say they do enough to beat MSU and Coker gets hurt during the game. Then Bateman gets hurt in the title game. Alec could very well be playing for the national title. If you don't think it can happen, just ask Ohio State. I would expect him to be focused as such.
  13. That's what my thought was. The "split the double team, sack the QB, somersault and scoop the fumble was one of the greatest plays I have ever seen.
  14. Bryce English a former 3-Star DT out of Desoto. He is transferring to be closer to his dad that was diagnosed with cancer. He could be granted a hardship waiver and be eligible in 2016. Offers from Kansas State, Arizona State, Arkansas, Iowa, Iowa State, Kansas, Texas, UCLA, Wisconsin, TCU. He is a bowling ball at 5-11 330lbs: http://sports.yahoo.com/ncaa/football/recruiting/player-Bryce-English-142443
  15. Wow, THAT'S the nicest thing I have ever seen posted on GMG. That's the point I'm trying(poorly) to make. Most players in CUSA are not good enough to play for Alabama, and most other top tier teams. That is what makes me excited about Alec. He is practicing against some of the best defenders in the country. Even Alabama's 2nd and 3rd string qualify for that statement..
  16. I just want to know what pictures DT has of Vito that are so compromising. Are we talkin' innocent nip slip or full frontal. Question. No info.
  17. Agreed. The best DBs in FBS will get beat if they have to cover for too long. A great DLine can cover a lot of blemishes in the D.
  18. QB D-Line LB OLine
  19. Winning starts at the top. If Littrell doesn't believe it then the players won't either. I, for one, was tired of coaches moaning and crying about how tough it is to recruit here and how bad they have it. Oh, poor little UNT. I want a coach who tells the fans and players that the bullshit mediocrity(that's even a stretch, I know) is over now. I will be surprised if he can pull it off but I like his style.
  20. Right, but we aren't asking for an NFL caliber QB. We aren't even asking for a Canadian Football League QB. We just need an FBS level QB that can run Littrell's version of the spread. We need a smart competent QB that can remember about 15 plays and that can run progressions in his sleep.
