MGB: DeVante Kincade calls UNT his top choice

Because he probably should have gone to the coaching staff to report it. -
MGB: DeVante Kincade calls UNT his top choice

Shanbour went Blitzkrieg alright. Something about someone stealing from the locker room. Probably wishes he kept that one in-house. -
Well, "Rutgers" is probably one of the last thread titles I thought I would see on GMG but it's a new year and a new regime. Are we talking about a senior dating a freshman and how that could ruin his rep if anyone found out or more along the lines of "all sophomore girls are easy". Question. No info.

Tom Herman of UH sounds off on shock jocks
Eagle-96 replied to Christopher Walker's topic in Mean Green Football
It's like watching you're drunk uncle argue with relatives at Christmas/Hanukkah/Kwanza/Festivus. It's sorta fun to watch and listen to but super uncomfortable at the same time. Mostly lies and half-truths with a healthy mixture of cheap bourbon and regret. Oh well, one more season at UH like the last and Herman will be but a memory as he will have his pick of better jobs. -
These are the kind of chances you take. The Wisconsin to Nebraska to somewhere else saga gives you pause but the upside potential is absolutely worth the risk. If he wants to sign here then bring it.

So uncomfortable to listen to. I need to go take a shower after listening to that. -

I guess if they want their program to be even worse than under Coker AND get put on probation then Mumme is a good place to start.

Bryce English: Following in Father's Footsteps - By Brett Vito
Eagle-96 replied to ADLER's topic in Mean Green Football
From the article: "English spent his lone season at Kansas State as a redshirt. A UNT source said the school has yet to make a decision on if it will pursue a hardship waiver that would allow English to be eligible in his first season at UNT in 2016" Either Vito the AD or both think that Bryce can play in 2016. The rule states otherwise -
Bryce English: Following in Father's Footsteps - By Brett Vito

My concern is that ether Vito, the athletic department, or both believe that English can obtain a hardship waiver and play in 2016. if it's Vito then he just hasn't researched the rules changes. If it's the athletic department that doesn't know about the change then wow. Just wow. -
Yeah, but tons of people on the Jazz message board have been there.

I hope they're never competitive again. Any harm to an in-state recruiting rival(nUTSAck and Texas State San Marcos) is a boon to UNT. We must use their turmoil to our full advantage in recruiting players and flipping their recruits that we think can help us.

I think the saga surrounding Morris, Kincade, and English does one thing above all others. It gives us hope in the program. Something we haven't had in a long time. I'm not just talking about the hope all teams have when they hire a new coach. That kind of hope is sorta like a bottle rocket on the 4th of July. It is fun, exciting, and it fizzles out once the explosion happens. You can light another one but you'll get the same result. This hope is different. We are targeting, and GETTING, players that were 3 and 4 stars. Players offered by multiple P5 schools. SEC players. We are getting tangible results in the first month. I hope this is the snowball that starts the avalanche. This is going to be a fun ride. Let's just hope we don't pull a Jason Pierre-Paul.

Bingo. He won one with SMU and Houston today.

Such a true true statement. Two teams with which, like it or not, we are recruiting rivals are in a bad spot right now. We MUST take full advantage of this as I trust Littrell et al are already doing.

I see what you did there

MGB breaking news: Bryce English to UNT
Eagle-96 replied to Brett Vito's topic in Mean Green Football
medical hardship waivers are gone now. So the question from me is will Bryce have 2 or 3 years left when he plays in 2017. -

Are they not also subject to the 30-day job posting rule or is that enforced anymore?
-
THAT is the best news of the day. Eric Jamal Johnson arrested today. Denton PD news conference in the next few minutes.

Their recruiting is screwed in a BIG WAY. By the time they hire a coach, signing day will be here and they will be left with very very little after the poaching. I actually feel bad for the JUCOs that signed thinking they would be playing for Coker.
