  1. Meh. RB coach. Good luck with that. More impressed with Texas States hire.
  2. All boils down to this: UCLA: Gets to play for a P5 on the west coast(word is this is where he wants to be). May have to ride the pine for a while. Texas A&M: Gets to play in the SEC in a spread scheme for a coach he liked at UCLA. May have to ride the pine. Yale: FCS school at a lower level of competition. One of the finest educations money can buy which is important because his parents will indeed be paying. UNT: Plays in a very QB friendly offense close to home with a chance at very early playing time.
  3. Agreed. I guess my point is that if someone runs a 4.5 40 then that is a static number. But La'Darius is the biggest guy on the field in most of the film. Not tough to shed a block from a 245 lb guard in high school whereas that guy will be 6'3" 300 in college. Kind of like a 320lb OL at a 2A high school. He will dominate and pancake every play but he is going up against 220 lb DTs whereas in college the DT's will be as big as he is. I just thing it is tough to gauge.
  4. Right, but Harrell already drove up just to talk and is going back next week to see him throw. I don't think we would waste our time if we were not going to offer. If we were going to PWO then Burns would stick with OSU and we would have wasted 2 trips during a very valuable time.
  5. Then OSU needs to nut up and offer the scholarship. It's that simple. If they don't then Burns has a decision to make. 1. Full scholarship to UNT where the QB competition would seem to be wide open. He would be coached by one of the most prolific college QBs of all time. 2. Walk-on at OSU with only a guarantee that he makes the 105 in August. His parents foot the bill. He would play for a former D II QB.
  6. Sure if that player tries to parlay another teams interest into forcing you to use a scholarship. If OSU thought that highly of him in the first place they would have already offered.
  7. It's just hard to take the film seriously. But that's what happens when you get a specimen out of a 3A(used to be 2A) school. Its's hard to gauge their talent.
  8. Or he bluffs and OSU then tells him to kick rocks.
  9. Agreed. He's making $285,000 at A&M. We can't compete with the $$$. Just a name to throw out if Sumlin gets canned or Chavis wants to go a new direction. Dierson on the other hand is making $95K at NIU. We could throw him $105 and call it a day.
  10. Mark Hagen - Texas A&M Brett Diersen - Northern Illinois
  11. Not much use in the Leach/Kingsbury version of the Air Raid but in Littrell's version of the Air Raid they go around 230-235 lbs
  12. 1. I want to see what Darvin Kidsy can do in this offense. For the past three years I have been waiting for him to break-out and become a star. He just hasn't been able to put it together on offense. Just get the ball in his hands and let him do work. 2. Wilson can be a star if he embraces the role of a RB in the Air Raid. He will be looked upon to catch the ball at a much higher clip. He only caught 12 balls last year. He may top that in his first 2 games next year. 3. Kevin Dillman has the size and speed combination to be a beast at TE. Littrell uses the Tight End in his offense and Dillman could be a tough match-up for LB and S in coverage. 4. Tre Johnson has the potential to be a stud in the return game and we saw some glimpses of that late last season. He is lightning quick and fearless which can't be taught. He may even see time in the slot. Just get the ball in his hands. 5. Trey Keenan has experience lining up in as an Air Raid OL and may get in the 2-deep quickly. Hasn't played in a year but his experience with the terminology and assignments may help him. I would like to see him bulk up though.
  13. H-back is a possibility. Andy Blount type player. Not sure what kind of hands he has.
  14. Rivals had him at 4.65 in the 40 so speed wouldn't be an issue. If he is indeed still 215 lbs then size/bulk would be more of an issue for playing at TE. I would like to see him closer to 245-250.
  15. Looks like they are interested in Glenn Spencer(OSU Defensive Coordinator) for the position. A guy whose defense gave up 439 yards per game for 99th in the country. Just ahead of UTSA at 100th. OSU also gave up 30.5 points per game. Good luck with that.
  16. In-home visit with Dontavious Balkman set for tomorrow followed by official visit on 01/18.
  17. Among other things. I'm talking about onion rings. CREEPS
  18. Anyone who thinks RV(or someone in the AD that reports to him) doesn't read this board is fooling themselves. IIRC someone in the AD or maybe RV himself alluded to as much a few years ago. Just listen to his interviews on the Barbershop Podcast if you don't think he reads the board.
  19. Not sure why there is even a debate going on here. Whataburger defeats all other chains. Period. End of Story
  20. This could be a great bit: The search for a topic that CANNOT be turned back into RV hate. I, for one, think we are up to the challenge.
