  1. This is a big big day in UNT athletics. You have a tough task ahead of you but with your qualifications I have NO DOUBT that you can accomplish your goals and wake this giant up.
  2. This must be very high level and not very detailed in terms of contract parameters if they are livestreaming it.
  3. What do you think the first order of business should be for Wren Baker after he starts on the job. There are a lot of things to clean up around here so he will be pretty busy. My opinion is that he needs to right the basketball ship first. We had a great thing going with JJ and should have built on his work only to have Benford come in and absolutely undo the progress that had been made. I think the ultimatum should be given to Benford from day one. WIN OR HIT THE ROAD. I wouldn't mind him showing Benford the door immediately but I fear it is too late in the game to get a capable coach before this season.
  4. Sure we are. We only have BC and SMU at home.
  5. That brings up a great interview that Joe Buck did with Jimmy Johnson: When asked about cutting a player that fell asleep during a Cowboys team meeting Jimmy stated that, "I put players on different tiers based on their skill level. I treat them accordingly. The player that fell asleep was a special teams contributor. So when I caught him sleeping I cut him. Michael Irvin asked me what I would have done if Troy Aikman had slept during the meeting. I said that I would have whispered in Troy's ear to wake up."
  6. THAT is all I can ask. Address the knowledge of the situation and that action will be taken after assessment of the facts.
  7. I prefer to thank the people who actually helped the stadium become a reality. Flyer and others in SGA and the students that voted. The only thing RV did to help the stadium get built was to stay out of the way during the run up to the vote.
  8. Not sure if that's for me or not but I'll shoot: This is a hard one because there is little to go by as far as a track record for how Littrell handles things from a head coaching perspective. His only opportunity was the Kidsy incident and I am still not sure if RV stifled Littrell in how he handled the arrest. Littrell puts a lot of the accountability for players on each other much like the the Larry Fedora model. If you're not lifting like you should your teammates let you know. If you are late for meetings, your teammates let you know. If you miss an assignment on a play, your teammates let you know. Peer accountability can be a very powerful thing. All that said I hope that Littrell goes to the DPD and to Smiley to get their sides and then makes a statement soon. He can't let this thing linger especially with the spotlight on college athletes and perceived favoritism that has been in the news recently.
  9. I think that we have seen so much technology shite from this athletic department for so long that ANY improvement was met with giddy excitement. It's like being happy with the used Ford Taurus you got from your parents in high school. It wasn't a Shelby Cobra like you wanted but it sure wasn't the Pinto you were used to either.
  10. We shall see if Seth's player accountability(players self policing each other) stance is real or not. If it is then rest assured his teammates will let him know just how much he has let the team down. ETA: This player accountability, in no way, replaces discipline from Littrell.
  11. Listed at 6' 1" means he's probably closer to 5'10" or so. That hurts a lot of DTs in recruiting. I will trust the coaches on this one as they see something. BTW, being too short got us one of the best DT/NT in school history so there's that.
  12. I'm sure Steve Littrell will correct him.
  13. Didn't know enough to call our D coordinator by the correct name. I'm not sure who Matt Ekeler is.
  14. Real talk though. Who is worthy of keeping at this point other than people dealing with academics and Title 9?
  15. No. This is America. We don't know what liters are. Jingoism aint dead ya know.
  16. OGS, If you are on 377, try Frescos in Watauga. Next to the Krispy Kreme. It's the bees knees.
  17. If my memory serves me, didn't he also attend a hoops game(against a D2 or NAIA school) one night during the process and promptly ask anyone who would listen: "Why in the world are you playing a school at this level?" You have NOTHING to gain from that!" Very candid with his assessment I believe.
