  1. Agreed. Texas, KC, Memphis, Carolina all think their BBQ is the best and rightfully so. They are all good in their own ways. It really depends on what you grow up eating to determine what you like. It's kind of like people from Cali loving In-N-Out and people from Texas loving Whataburger. They are not the best burgers around but they evoke memories of your past and people love them nonetheless. Gimmie Pecan Lodge every day.
  2. I believe it was the event for the incoming freshman. Hopefully we can get them back on 09/03.
  3. I agree that you should play to win but Dodge REALLY screwed up on this one even though it turned out to be a moot point. Winning the last game of the season meant nothing. 2-10 vs 3-9 is basically the same thing. If we had been playing for a bowl berth or a conference championship then I am all for burning the shirt. This was not one of those situations. Dodge was playing for himself and not the good of the program. He should have run the wildcat out there and called it a day.
  4. Lighter Offensive lineman are not as much of a problem in Littrell's Air Raid as it would be in Mac's Run-To-Boredom offense. Air Raid will use wider splits(although UNC didn't seem to use the 1 to 1/2 yard splits that Leach tends to use. This however could have been a function of Fedora's influence) which will need the Lineman to be better(read quicker) in space especially on a combo blocking play or when they provide help on a defender. Can anybody that has been to practice confirm the splits and whether they are closer to Leach or Fedora.
  5. Hey, I hope I am wrong about 3 wins but I fear that I am not. Things have not looked this bright in many moons here with Littrell and Baker on board but getting to the promised land takes time. It's gonna take more FBS level bodies in here. Even without injuries we are super thin and will tend to wear down as games go on. Jimmy Johnson said it best with: "Fatigue makes cowards of us all. Football rewards the guys that are in great condition. You get tired and you don't have that same fight. That same will to win". We simply don't have the numbers to work guys in a rotation other than the secondary. Guys are gonna wear down and, while they may have the will and the skill, may not have anything left in the tank by the 4th quarter. That is going to be the true test of Littrell is how he deals with fatigue of his players.
  6. Depth will be what does us in this year. We are woefully thin at almost every position except CB and S. The upside is that young guys are gonna get playing time by default which will help with experience in 17 and 18. Anything over 3 wins will be a miracle.
  7. Raveon signed an LOI so Littrell is free to discuss. It is the commitments that are yet to sign their LOI that coaches can't discuss.
  8. I think Vito does a fine job but posting the Hoston Tweet when Littrell stated that he is not in our plans and will not be cleared to play is nothing more than click-bait. Vito knows he's not playing so there was no reason to put any info about him at all. I prefer to talk about players that will be here and helping the team.
  9. I agree, but Vito is really the one that needs to let it go. Brett posting the Twitter info on the MGB is nothing more than cheap clickbait that attempts to get hopes up in the name of a few cents for the DRC.
  10. If you go to dallascowboys.com and search the roster and depth chart he is nowhere to be found. I fear he is a camp body. Ryan Mack is now #61 for the Cowboys.
  11. Idaho brought more fans then SMU. FREAKING IDAHO! SMU should be embarrassed that their fans can't be bothered to drive 30 minutes to see them play a game. Hell, they can't even be bothered to see them in Dallas. Look at the stands any time A&M, Tech, or we play at Ford. SMU feels like the visitor in those games. But yeah you guys are surely on the top of the Big 12 list.
  12. Let's see how they laugh when trash beats cash. SMU's first day of camp went well too:
  13. Hopefully owning up to your mistakes is the new culture here that Littrell has put in place. I would venture to guess that the Kidsy incident(and how he handled it) was discussed with the team. Smiley did the EXACT OPPOSITE of what Kidsy did. The situation was handled quickly the punishment meted out.
  14. Vito continued to ask questions when nobody else was and Baker said that(paraphrasing) he and Vito can continue the Q/A after the press conference in a one on one. Vito WAS doing his job but Baker is giving Vito an opportunity to get scoop on all the questions he wants.
  15. "We Will Win" I LOVE it. Best quote from a UNT AD EVER!!!!1
  16. Remember for anyone who has family/friends that are not season ticket holders and might be coming to games with you or on their own this season that single game tickets go on sale this morning at 10:00 AM CDT. http://www.meangreensports.com/tickets/
  17. THIS should be a HUGE part of Wrens marching orders. We need MANY MANY MANY more donors of ALL levels. But we also need some big fish that can reach in their couch cushions and fund a project if needed. Dumb question but do we(or anybody) have athletics endowments? Sort of "just donate and we will put away for projects as they come along" or is it all situations where we identify the need and then ask for specific funds for specific projects. I hope that question makes sense.
