For those that think DD is underpaid consider what the other coaches around the league have in their contracts: MTSU: Dr. Skipper Guy Florida Intl: Diet Lemon/Lime Shasta Guy Florida Atl: Tab Guy Troy: Fresca Guy Louisiana La: Rocky Top Orange Guy Louisiana Mo: Newark City Tap Water Guy Arkansas State: Mad Dog 20/20 Guy

RC was started in Columbus Ga.
-
He graduated and was taken in the 2nd round by the Falcons. Atlanta is an RC Cola town so he will have to step up his game as he will be serving a new product as well as multi tasking by getting drinks for not only Jim Mora but for Greg Knapp and Ed Donatell as well. He may have to make trips to the booth and also juggle between providing RC, Diet Rite, and Diet Cherry RC. He will have his hands full but I expect to see a good performance from him in his rookie campaign. Expect to see him back for homecoming as he will be the honorary Diet Coke guy during the 2nd quarter. It will be great to see him in Denton again.

The line for the Tulsa game opened at NT -6.5 and has now moved to NT -5.5.

The new Diet Coke Guy really stepped it up and showed his determination and intestinal fortitude Saturday night. This kid came in as an untested unproven guy who only had experience slinging Fresca in Division 2 ball but he just performed better than anyone expected. He held the Diet Cokes with poise and confidence never spilling or over-pouring. When DD ran down the sideline to keep up with a play or to yell to a player, there was Diet Coke Guy right behind him no sloshing, no shaking. He was right behind DD without hesitation or wavering. He kept the foam to a minimum and served up his refreshing drinks right at 36 degrees all night long. No ice in the 4th quarter? No problem for Diet Coke Guy. He had a back-up cooler ready to go. At a critical juncture with 4 minutes left DD was particularly parched and really needed to wet his whistle. There was Diet Coke Guy with a fresh new Coke Zero. It was a daring move to give the coach something different but it was just what DD needed to get him through a tough 4th quarter. Some will say it was a risky move but I say it was cool and calculated and just what we needed for the win. Kudos to our new Diet Coke Guy. Dare I say there may be a Hall of Fame induction ceremony in his future.

My wife(an Aggie) said the same thing. She said it is easier to see the "North Texas".

YAWN I don't particularly care what a 4th rate high school beat reporter for the DRC writes about this board. I bet his bosses do though.

theburro: You just don't get it do you. Let me make this clear. Gross IS NOT BETTER than Cobbs or Thomas. If you think he is, you are far dumber than everyone thinks. Cobbs had 195 all-purpose yards last night. Thomas averaged 5.8 yards per carry. If you asked 200 writers, scouts, college coaches, etc... who was the best of the 3, Gross would get 200 3rd place votes. MUTS turned the ball over 5 times. That does not mean that you gave us the ballgame, it means that your players played poorly and made bad decisions last night. Andy Mac did not throw those picks or fumble those balls so don't blame him. You running back needs to learn how to take a handoff. Weathers made a great play on the first pick and Holman made an amazing return on the 2nd pick. The 3rd pick was due to pressure from our D-line. All I hear from the MUTS board is how you guys beaat yourselves and NT did not win the game. How bad it feels to lose another game in the rivalry. Don't you have to win at least one game to make it a rivalry? GMG!!! Beat Tulsa!!!

BRISKET IS KING 1. By saying beef isn't barbeque you have proven how dumb you are. 2. You did not manhandle anyone. I don't care how many yards MUTS got last night, YOU LOST THE GAME(again). 3. We will beat Tulsa.

http://www.meangreensports.com/ViewArticle...0&ATCLID=188083 Freshman Power North Texas In 6-1 Win Over Sam Houston St Courtesy: University of North Texas Release: 09/11/2005 DENTON, Tex (9/11/05) – Four North Texas freshman combined for six goals to lead the Mean Green soccer team past Sam Houston State 6-1 at the Mean Green Soccer Complex. Freshman Brittany Cleveland, Gennifer Hurst, Kelli Lunsford and Jessie Wolfe combined for six goals, one assist, and 13 points on the afternoon as the Mean Green (4-2-1) extended their unbeaten streak to five games. Cleveland had a hat trick on the afternoon becoming the first freshman to record a hat trick since 2003. Lunsford started the scoring in the seventh minute of play on a penalty kick after junior Jamie Yates was tackled in the box. Cleveland followed up with two goals in a span of 71 seconds to give North Texas a 3-0 lead. Cleveland’s first goal came in the 12th minute of play off a centering pass from Yates. Her second goal came from 15 yards at the top of the box. Wolfe made it 4-0 North Texas in the 35th minute off a loose ball from five yards out. Cleveland topped the day off with her third goal in the 54th minute of play on the right side eight yards out to give North Texas a 5-0 lead. Hurst scored her first goal of the season in the 75th minute of play from the left side after getting a pass from Angela Hawkins. Senior goalkeeper Briana Buchanan made two saves on the day to pick up the win. Buchanan now has 200 saves for her career and needs only three more to become the Mean Green’s all-time saves leader. North Texas closes out its four-game homestand on Friday, Sept. 16 with a match against the regionally ranked Rice Owls at 7 p.m.

This is the strangest starts to a college football season in a long while: TCU over OU SMU over TCU Ohio over Pitt Nicholls over LaMo Iowa State over Iowa Georgia Tech over Auburn Vanderbilt over Arkansas
-
Man, you aint kiddin'. They want the head of Andy Mac on the MUTS board.

Be patient Grasshoppers. J-Mo will be fresh in the 2nd half and he will wear the Blue Raiders out. Don't count our boys out yet.

http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/dw...r.3ef03ca7.html OU's Bomar ticketed for alcohol possession Starting QB's playing status unclear 12:02 PM CDT on Friday, September 9, 2005 By BRIAN DAVIS / The Dallas Morning News Oklahoma quarterback Rhett Bomar of Grand Prairie was ticketed for being a minor in possession of alcohol at a party early Sunday, according to authorities in Norman, Okla. It's unclear if the misdemeanor citation will affect his status as the team's starter going into Saturday's game against Tulsa. Norman police Lt. Tom Easley said officers were dispatched to investigate whether an underage female had suffered alcohol poisoning. Officers learned that the woman had come from a nearby party, so they went to investigate, Easley said. Police walked up to the scene and found several people drinking on the front lawn, and Bomar, 20, was holding a glass mug, Easley said. "When the officer asked him what was in the glass mug, Bomar said, 'Dr Pepper,'" Easley said. "Then the officer asked if there was alcohol in the Dr Pepper, Bomar said, 'Yes.'" Bomar has already set a court date of Oct. 5 to either ask for a trial or accept a plea, Easley said. Coach Bob Stoops named Bomar the team's starting quarterback after Monday's practice. Junior Paul Thompson started the season opener against TCU. But Stoops made the switch in the wake of a 17-10 loss. Now, it's unclear whether Bomar will get the opportunity to start. OU team spokesman Kenny Mossman told several Oklahoma news outlets that Stoops was aware of the incident. Mossman said any disciplinary action would be handled within the framework of the team.

http://www.meangreensports.com/ViewArticle...0&ATCLID=187471 Hutyra Records Second Consecutive Hat Trick In Mean Green's 6-0 Win Courtesy: University of North Texas Release: 09/07/2005 DENTON (9/7/05) – In dominating fashion the North Texas (3-2) women’s soccer team notched its third straight win, handing Grambling State (1-3) a 6-0 loss at the Mean Green Soccer Complex. Sophomore forward Heather Hutyra recorded her second consecutive hat trick as she ended the night with three goals, one assist, and seven points. She is only the fourth player in North Texas history to record a hat trick in back-to-back games and the first player to do so since Melinda Pina in 2003. “I was happy that we were able to get everyone involved,” said North Texas head coach John Hedlund. “This is a nice game to have and gets us some more momentum for Friday’s game with Missouri State”. The Mean Green jumped on top of the Lady Tigers in the first minute of the match and never looked back. Hutyra, the reigning Sun Belt Conference Player of the Week, scored 69 seconds into the game from 20 yards out. Eight minutes later junior Kristin Campbell made it 2-0 as she scored her first goal of the season off a feed from Hutyra 15 yards out. North Texas added a third goal in the first half as junior Jamie Yates collected her first goal of the year in the 33rd minute of play on a centering pass from freshman Gennifer Hurst. Hutyra added her second goal of the game in the 53rd minute off a steal in the Lady Tigers end from 10 yards out. She completed the hat trick just two minutes later on a deflection in the Grambling State box. Campbell notched her second goal of the night in the 58th minute off a free kick from 20 yards out to make it 6-0. The Mean Green fired 35 shots in the game, tied for the sixth most in school history. All three North Texas goalkeepers saw action as sophomore Kandice Ellis picked up her third straight win. North Texas continues its four-game homestand on Friday with a battle against Missouri State at 7 p.m.
