They do have hockey, gymnastics and skiing. I imagine their largest spend is on hockey. EDIT: also lacrosse -

Haven't gotten far enough in the process to have specific ones picked out. When I call myself a noob, I am REALLY a noob. Through discussions with my cousin (whose quite versed in this topic), I think I've determined that after the judge, I'm gonna go with a lower caliber hand gun (.38 or lower) and a shotgun that has as little kick as possible so that my wife would feel comfortable using and controlling it (as well as my kids once they're old enough). I mentioned the Baretta and Ruger because my cousin had mentioned them as have good models for what we were looking for, but again, its so early in the process that I've only "window shopped" up to this point and haven't handled many. I'm not educated enough to form my own opinion at this point.

The 2006 game was where my hatred originated from. My experience was with a SMU student (he looked young enough to be a student) who was "tailgating" with a bottle of booze in a brown paper bag out of the back of his Lexus SUV at the United Methodist Student center parking lot (btw Maple and Kerr - now known as the Denton Wesley Foundation). I was an active member there for years as a student and still had permission to park in their parking lot and would do so for football games and walk to Fouts. So, I parked a space or two away from him, ignored the fact he was drinking in a religious organization's parking lot, and made my way to the game without so much as making eye contact with him. When I get back to my vehicle after the ass whooping we gave them, I was fortunate to notice something behind my back right tire. When I went to remove it...sure enough, it was a brown paper bag with an empty glass bottle shoved up against the back of my tire. That dill's vehicle was already gone which was a good thing. I'm not a violent person by any stretch of the imagination, but if I would have caught him in the act, the rage I felt at that moment would have ended in a bad situation for one or the both of us. Since then, I do my best not to hold personal grudges against SMU students/grads and have a good relationship with an SMU coworker. But, that experience has always left a very bitter taste in my mouth for SMU that has not diminished and probably never will.

Now I'm convinced that your fear of small dogs over big dogs is either a bit or some psychological hang up. That's like saying you're more afraid of a paintball gun than a barretta. I'd be interested to see what the sample size is of killer Yorkies out of the entire population of Yorkies. And so you know, I agree with you that pit bulls shouldn't be banned. However, I do feel there should be extra measures out there to make sure they are with the right owners. I certainly feel that you have the right to own one (or two or three, etc.), but to think that one can't be dangerous (even the most well behaved, best treated ones) is a bit foolish.

I hope you're using hyperbole/sarcasm with this statement. I've got two "yippy" dogs, and even with the most violent attack they could muster, the worst damage they could do is a minor flesh wound. And if they did try something like that, I (or my wife or any other human over 5 years old) can quickly pick them up with one (or two) hand and throw them across the room. A pitbull can crush bones with its bite and is much more difficult to bring under control. Its like comparing apples to giant-state-fair-award-winning pumpkins.
