  1. The vacation was wonderful while it lasted.
  2. Really? I see this as a decision by the board administrators who have the FREEDOM to run the board as they see fit. Seems that they got tired of a few posters using the Non-Sports forum as an communication affiliate of World Net Daily (or other conservative website) and the subsequent bickering and venom that ensued. Acknowledgement should be made that liberal poster on this board did this on occasion too. Please spare me the "our freedoms are being eroded" bit. There are still thousands of other places on the interwebs for you to do all the things you described above. I applaud the move to bring the focus of the board back to North Texas Sports and the University in general.
  3. Being in CO, its probably my best option for watching all the games. Do you think they've improved it over last year?
  4. I guess I'm confused because it doesn't show up on ESPN's schedule: ESPN Game schedule
  5. ...but I don't see it on their schedule. If not on ESPN, what channel will it be on?
  6. I think this is the most I've ever agreed with you on a political topic.
  7. Great point, especially on the polarization of politics in America. Do you think a the emergence of a 3rd party (either the Libertarian or another that pulls in both moderate R's and D's) would help combat this?
  8. MGD may have been referring to the efficiency differences between an internal combustion motor and an electric motor. I've read in a couple different articles (but can't remember where) that electric motors are inherently much more efficient than IC's. Anybody have any data or other knowledge that backs up or disproves this?
  9. Pretty much...fundamentally evil is too harsh and not what I believe. When it comes to profit motive, morality takes a back seat at best. Corporations and other businesses do the right thing all the time (especially when times are good) and I applaud them for it. But I believe its the humans (and their inherent want to do the "right thing") running the business that provide the morals, not the motive to make profit. That, Keith, is what I fundamentally believe at the core of my being. Cody
  10. Uh, yes you can (if by unicorn farts you mean wind, geothermal, tidal, hydro, and biofuels). EDIT - forgot hydrogen The only reason oil and coal are still used as fuel is because it is currently the cheapest form of fuel and it will remain that way for at least the near future. As demand for oil goes up, I don't expect that to be the case in the future (my guess...within the next 20-40 years). Coal will stick around a while longer at least here in the US because we have a sh*tload of it.
  11. If Orly Taitz (attorney, dentist, and real estate agent) is the leader of this movement, then "birthers" are only destined be a source of jokes at best.
  12. Butters Scotch is running for office?
  13. I did during my freshman year at NT...greatness on such a low budget!
  14. Ok...here are photos from my impromptu tour of the BSU stadium. Overall, I think it is a very good stadium. A couple negatives that I address below. I think that it serves as a good model for how it will feel to be in our new stadium, but we can do ours better. Regardless, kudos to the Ball State program for having such a nice venue for football. 1. Here is a photo of the main entrance of the stadium...very nice in my opinion. I can imagine a huge SOW banner hanging from that press box 2. & 3. These were taken from the south end of the stadium. I went up to the top of the home side of the stands, just under the press box and took these photos: 1. The south end of the stadium...also very well done. There looked to be offices and locker rooms under those stands. 2. Center of the field (call me Captain Obvious) 3. The north end. I like the grass and it looks like it could easily accomodate expanded seating. Other various photos: 1. What I don't want to see in our new stadium...this looks like the underside of the stands at my high schools stadium. Taken from the southeast corner of the stadium. The whole visitor's side looks like a high school set up. 2. BSU's football training facility right behind the south end of the stadium. Nice, but I like our new digs better (at least from what I can see from the outside of this. 3. A view from outside of the stadium from the northwest. The supports under the concrete home side stands is simple and classy in IMO. When you get closer to it, the concrete is older so it seems that the stadium is older, but they've added on to it in recent years. Not a good option in our situation with Fouts. 4. They only had 3 panels of these $400+ dollar donors. I KNOW we can do much better! 5. Another photo from the southeast corner of the stadium. 6. This is what a track looks like without a stadium. Can't wait until we lose the track. Their track & field facilities are just north of the stadium. A big thanks to FFR for editing these photos into a postable form. If anyone wants the bigger individuals of the photos above, PM me and I'd be happy to email them to you. GO MEAN GREEN!!!
  15. 1. Southpark 2. Simpsons 3. Family Guy 4. The Office 5. Fresh Prince Honorable mention to Cosby Show. All comedy, I know, but if I'm gonna waste my time watching TV, I better be laughing.
  16. True...they all kind of run together into one big boring blur.
  17. I believe Kansas to be the strongest contender for that title.
  18. I've got a blackberry that takes decent pictures...I'll see what I can do.
  19. I'm actually posting this message from Muncie...here on business. I drove by the stadium this morning and it looked nice from the outside. If I get time, I'm gonna see if I can get a closer look. I've got my green on today, though!
  20. EagleGreen, looks like you're out of the club, you liberal gay cowboy!
  21. You are talking about female cheerleader pom-poms, right?
  22. Good luck taking it all and furthering your career at the same time...at least they let you carry over half into the next year. When I left, I had 4 weeks accumulated so I got a nice payout. Overall, I'm much happier and spend alot more quality time with my wife with my current job that only gives me two weeks a year.
