As I read through the beating this thread is, its looking alot like the Bill Nye/Ken Ham debate. Bill Nye: Here is all this evidence from decades of research from thousands of reputable scientists that support the theory of evolution. Ken Ham: Well there are these few reputable scientists that support the theory of creationism. Therefore it is on equal footing with the theory of evolution and should be given equal time in our public schools. (insert bible verse reading here) Bill Nye: While I admit evolution is not an absolute proven theory, the evidence is overwhelming. Ken Ham: See! You're not sure, therefore the theory of creationism is just as, if not more, plausible. (insert another bible verse here)

Dave Campbell lists 2014 Instant Impact Freshman

Yep...my parents are in the process of putting their home on the market there and should be able to completely cover the cost of the bigger home they are building in Little Elm. They kinda lucked into it, timing-wise. I've hardly recognized the Midland from my youth over the last 3 years I've visited. -

Too bad we can't give more than one "up" vote. -
Who joining me at Babb's tonight? GMG!

Is it going to be recorded for download afterwards? I'm driving down tomorrow and would rather listen to it then. -
No as far as you, but I'm coming in from Colorado for it.

I just discovered Muse by listening to their latest album The 2nd Law. Looking forward to exploring their earlier stuff. So yeah, I'm way behind on current "good" music. That's what happens when your music listening time is competing with 2 toddlers, video games, and a Netflix addiction. I still love discovering something new that I instantly love.

Good post...I was very involved with United Methodist Students (now named Denton Wesley Foundation) throughout my college career, met my wife and my future brother-in-law there, and met lots of great people many of who are my closest friends to this day. Lots of great memories and probably kept me out of trouble I might have gotten into otherwise.

Happy birthday Evan! Thanks for all your hard work on the podcast and for the program in general.

Mean Green on The Hardline

Short, but (mostly) sweet. Praised McCarney for turning the program around and the defense for the "heroic" 8 play goaline stand. Said we could probably now hang with TCU and SMU. I agree with TCU, but bet we would smoke SMU. -
Mike and Corby about to discuss last night's game at the top of the 5 o'clock hour (CT).

Here's a couple links I came across in Googling "is congress exempt from obamacare": http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/2013/09/27/is-congress-exempt-from-obamacare/2883635/ http://www.factcheck.org/2013/08/no-special-subsidy-for-congress/ From what I understand, they are pretty neutral sources.

The UGA game is on ABC here in Denver. Laying in bed on a Saturday morning watching my Mean Green. Doesn't get any better than this! Is this nationally broadcasted on all ABC affiliates across the country?

How is it this year? Thinking about utilizing it for the MT game. Sorry if this has been discussed already.

Breaking bad anyone?

Love it, but I don't have cable so the wife and I are about to watch the first 8 episodes of season 5 on Netflix. We spent about an hour last night watching youtube videos that reminded us what happened in season 4. We got about 5 minutes into Ep1 S5 and started to get lost. Excited for the last season...I'm actually glad they put a limit on the show. Can you imagine how far they'd have to stretch the storyline to make it last 8 or 9 seasons? Once its wrapped up, I'm asking for the blu-ray box set of the entire series for Christmas (you listening, Santa?). -

Per the E news report on TheTicket yesterday, Low Winter Sun is cut after just 3 episodes. They may finish rolling out what's already been produced. -
Keep me posted on this thread if the game gets picked up here in the Front Range. I'm up in Longmont, but would travel 30 - 40 miles to be able to see them on TV.

Granted, I'm 15 years away from having my kids starting off to college, but I like the approach my parents took with my sister and I: they covered most of our living expenses and left the responsibility of tuition and books up to us. That way, they really think about whether or not going out-of-state or private is really worth them getting into massive debt. We've started a 529 for both of our kids, but we're letting them know early on that they shouldn't expect that it will cover all their education and that they should start thinking about scolarships when they start applying to schools. Worked out well for me as I was able to graduate without any debt. Would have worked out for my sister if she wouldn't have gone to SMU her first year before transferring to North Texas. Even with a good amount of scholarships, she still went into about $8K worth of debt for that one year. Glad she finally saw the light and moved away from the dark side.

TV SERIES
BeanCounterGrad'03 replied to THOR's topic in The Eagles Nest (There Should be Pie For Everyone Forum)
Along this same line, American Horror Story (also FX) is kind of nice in that each season is like a "miniseries" of 13 episodes, I'm about to watch the last episode of the first season and it will wrap up the storyline. Season 2 starts a whole new story and same with season 3 starting this fall. If you don't have the time or the means to watch the old seasons, you don't have to watch them to be able to jump right into season 3. -
