Not exactly...correct me if I'm wrong on this, KRAM, but the Champions league is made up of teams that won (or finished close to the top of) their European leagues. The top 1-3 teams from each of the top Euro leagues (Spanish, French, German, English, Italian, Portugese, Czech, etc.) are pulled in every year to play in the Champions league. But even the Champions league champion can't call themselves world champs because they leave out leagues outside of Europe. However, its a facinating sporting event that I don't think can be duplicated by the other sports right now because there are no other rival leagues on par with the NBA, NFL, and NHL. But I do agree with KRAM's arguement: "world champions" is a bit of a stretch.
