I’m gonna keep this file saved and post in every thread I see blaming our fans. We’re lucky to have the passionate group we have. Truly some of the BEST fans in the country. I salute each and every fellow Mean Green masochist on GMG.com and beyond.

So do I redirect the thousands of dollars in donations per year to Athletics MGSF and special projects to NIL??? Or am I and others like me supposed to also now fund the players “salaries” on top of all this while the coaches and administrators make millions in salary? The whole system is unsustainable and quite bluntly, F’d. Make the schools themselves pay for this shit. UNT has a like 600 million dollar a year budget. Pay salaries, put players on contracts, and call it a University marketing expense. Also I’m a fan - I’ll complain about or praise anything I want at any time. Stop blaming our fans. It’s old and tiresome and I’ll continue to call it out every time I see this line of idiocy.

Defense - Someone Explain One Positive Attribute
Green Lantern replied to Green Lantern's topic in Mean Green Football
I’ll only speak for myself when I say I definitely don’t hate watch this team. I’ve just recently realized that I’ve now followed this program for 26, going on 27 years. I was 17 years old when I started my fandom. I’m a middle aged man now. All that to say - the reason I’m so directly critical about not accepting horrid defense is because for maybe the 2nd or 3rd time in that entire fandom, I feel like we’re close to actually being able to do something special. Caponi & this ill fitting scheme are getting in the way of this. I don’t want us to waste Chandler Morris, like what happened to Mason in the end. -

Agree! We also need to focus on our special teams being a disaster in critical situations. Our historically bad defense keeps a critical eye off of them as well. I appreciate your analytical approach - genuinely. I think you know that we pay at the TOP END of the G5 pay scale for this. I’m not looking for incremental progress from the worst defense I’ve ever seen in person in Year 2. And I sat through Ron Mendoza, so I’m battle hardened and scarred from shitty North Texas defenses. -

Chandler is an absolute baller. A true pleasure watching him run the offense. -

Good call. And I forgot that the man himself shouted us out on the sosch. So that’s 2 attributes. I’ve been swiftly and comprehensively owned in this thread. F it - based on empirical evidence provided…Extend Caponi!!! 💪 -

You know, just for grins, I’ll apply the quality uni’s this year to the defense. 😂 So we’ve successfully identified one attribute. Mods you can go ahead and lock the thread. -

Caponi is directly responsible for holding us back from reaching our potential. It’s maddening. -
Meanwhile--- in San Antonio...

Their QB is fine. He’s not Harris, who papered over other significant team deficiencies through the years. We’ve seen it first hand several times. Agree with you that their problems extend far beyond QB though. Welcome to the realities of G5 program management UTSA! It’s a blast. -

Dude I’m taking the P5 bag & everything that comes with - including the NIL support - the guy is constantly bitching about. Not the peanuts he got in comparison. -

Lesson Traylor should have learned from Seth. Secure the bag when you can. UTSA is just seeing how volatile G5 “program building” is. It’s all about the QB. They benefited from it for a loooonnnggg time. Now they pay the piper.- 34 replies

Again - Almost ALL of our transfers out of here in the past few years have not prospered at all. Take out the Murphy Twins, and the vast majority have just rotted away into obscurity. Sad. Could have been part of the solution here.

Army Ranked In Both Polls; Navy Ranked In One

Agreed. Asking us to beat the pair of Memphis and Tulane in back to back weekends is a tall ask and not likely. -

That’s the benefit of being in a league with the service academies. When they’re good, the media LOVES it. To the point of overrating them. Which likely gives us an amazing opportunity in a few weeks. Almost no way Army isn’t undefeated when they arrive in Denton given their schedule. We just have to hold up our end of things. -
No. That 3-3 alignment needs to be shitcanned permanently. Thought the Tech game forced that into the dumpster where it belongs. Guess not. Truly can’t believe Morris tolerates it. Simplify like the previous 2 games with the 3-4. Adding the extra LB is the only way with our personnel.
