I’m all for investing more in UNT Basketball - coaching salaries and especially a new arena. But I can’t get with anything at the expense of football. We can be great at both. Both need to be relevant.

No way. He’ll have Tech in their conference title game within 3 years. Grant wins at every level. Their casual fanbase is full of basketball morons. Their plugged in fans know what’s up. P5 fanbases as a whole simply can’t objectively discern player and/or coaching talent outside their bubble cause they don’t watch it to have a basis for real comparison. See: the media, NCAA Selection Committee, and P5 fans complete and total miss on CUSA this year.

Cool interview. Hope we see him coaching on the Mean Green bench after he winds down his playing career.

What??? Post season wins absolutely matter. They shape the future narrative of the programs involved. Current social media is flooded with comments about the group of CUSA schools post season performances, snubbing by the NCAA selection committee, and how strong the new AAC is going to be with them joining. How does that not have value?

Our basketball facilities are nowhere near Tech. We’re complaining about losing Grant, but there’s a sizable amount of the fanbase that thinks a new, modern basketball facility shouldn’t be the priority after the Athletics Center remodel. Worse - we have a subset actively trying to promote starting baseball from scratch. You want to keep or attract top tier coaches, we have to give them top tier facilities. As much as I love the place - the Super Pit is no longer that. Hasn’t been for a long time. That’s just reality.

I used to be in charge of getting the counts at games when I worked there back in the day. The crowd today was way more than 3,100 - Probably around 5,000 eyeballing it.

Glad Stone was able to come back in overtime with several big plays to make up for the missed box out at the end of regulation. They just find a way to win.

No reason for them to get 5 and CUSA get 1. Our league reps in the NCAA Tournament have consistently over performed while perennially being under-seeded. Don’t know how the committee doesn’t see this.

Hell of a college basketball game! First - hats off to UAB. Man they are a good team. Team win. Just played gritty and never gave up. Kai really came up big. GREAT atmosphere in the Pit! Kudos to the fans for being a factor late in the 2nd half on. Best feel in the Super Pit since last season.
