  1. Yeah. There were some fans on the commercial flight with him Saturday morning. I figured that meant what ultimately ended up happening was on the way.
  2. Gotcha. So we’re officially moving forward with Gary Patterson then! 😂
  3. What did I miss on this?
  4. ^^^ A little more accurate. Glorious insanity.
  5. From where? To me he’s one of the riskier candidates out there. Done nothing close to FBS head coach in scope of responsibilities yet. Might end up as a home run or complete crap out. Hard for me to see UNT can Littrell, have the resources to make a much more qualified, splashier hire, and move up the food chain to the AAC with a hire like this.
  6. Played with fire but got away with it! Don’t apologize for road wins.
  7. I get that you like Carthel (he might be a great fit - honestly don’t know) but offer up some other suggestions of some coaches you think UNT should also consider??
  8. I’d add him to a list to look at for sure.
  9. Agreed that this would be the main area of concern. That positioning falls to Jared and Neal to adequately paint a realistic picture of the challenges and opportunities this role presents. Would still gauge his interest and see if it might be a fit. Maybe he’s tired of the SEC culture/pressure cooker?
  10. Yes! I mentioned him in another thread. We need to be talking to him along with Fuente. In addition to other names mentioned on the forum commonly - I’d also contact Kane Wommack at South Alabama and Curt Cignetti at James Madison.
  11. For sure. To state that a candidate with FBS head coaching experience, significant overall winning record, young in coaching age, and AAC and ACC “Coach of the Year” credentials is a “lazy” candidate for UNT to be looking at is disingenuous. I’m not saying he should 100% be our guy, but we should absolutely be talking to him.
  12. Sorry bro @Andrewhas the @emmitt01obessesion cornered on this board!
  13. Why do people assume that just cause the guy is 2nd in command and good at that role, that he’d be a carbon copy of the previous guy? How many jobs have you had where you were great in your role, supported a direct supervisor, & aspired to one day have that role (or one like it), so that you could enact your vision and make it your own?
  14. Same. By a long shot. Not buying that this is the extent of what we’re looking at.
  15. Exactly! UNLV is targeting coaches with a National Title and another with BCS Bowl wins. FAU hired Tom Herman. And we should seriously consider mid tier FCS coaches? 😂😂 Seriously - people need to get their heads around the fact that we can and will pay more for the next than we did Seth. Massive increase in enrollment at UNT, increase in AAC’s conference distribution, and commitment of big donors.
  16. Maybe? 🤷‍♂️ Coaches coach. If you’re UNT, shoot your shot.
  17. Read that Chris Peterson is a target for UNLV’s current search. If that’s true, we need to go money whip him ASAP. Bring that Boise blueprint to Denton.
  18. Yes. We need to be talking to everyone listed above. Along with Fuente, Holtz, Mullen, Riley, Gillespie, Walters, Morris, K Briles. I don’t think Bob Stoops wants to coach at the college level again, but I’d still call and make him tell me “No thanks”. Shoot your shot.
  19. I saw that. I know and like Sean. Great dude. But he’s wrong on this.
  20. Man I thought you might have been exaggerating the excruciatingly bad takes on Twitter from non UNT fans about this move. Took a peek. Good lord. Just re-emphasizes that this was the correct and needed move. The “poor little North Texas - should never expect more- lucky to have a .500 coach” mentality has got to go.
  21. Hope we at least make Gary Patterson say “No”.
  22. Obviously we win this one going away. Easy money.
