Hell of a college basketball game! First - hats off to UAB. Man they are a good team. Team win. Just played gritty and never gave up. Kai really came up big. GREAT atmosphere in the Pit! Kudos to the fans for being a factor late in the 2nd half on. Best feel in the Super Pit since last season.

They were on his jock pretty hard last night. That said I gotta give the big fella credit for two sweet passes - that wrap around down low and the no look behind the back.

Sadly agree. We’re a good team but the issues that we have internally are enough to keep us from being that calibre. Weird to think that this is probably the 2nd worst version of the Mean Green under Grant. It’s still good but seems like we’ve got a couple pieces that don’t fit as well as the past couple seasons.

Do you mean for exclusively students? The UNT/La Tech basketball pre-game party last year the Alumni Association threw blew this out of the water. And it was cold/miserable weather that day. Still props to FAU. That looks like an awesome event.

Back in the SBC days WKU was the conference basketball program “standard bearer” I wanted North Texas to emulate. Will always enjoy any win over them. On the road is even better.

Ha! My point exactly. Wish those administrators lived in Denton as well. I live in Denton and I love it. Think you can actually sell it better to 18 yr olds if you actually know what makes it cool and unique vs just working there. But what do I know??? I’m just an “old head” as the kids say. And yes! Let’s just win a ton of football games!

One other random thought: I really hope that Coach Morris and his family actually move to and make a home in Denton proper. Not Argyle or Northlake - the bougie neighbors. Nothing wrong with those communities and tons of the University brass live in those areas, but I think if you really want to ingrain yourself to the Denton community and University students, faculty, and staff - commit to being apart of it. Talk the talk AND walk the walk. TONS of really great places to live in Denton.

Exactly. In Jay’Ds dream scenario - I’d love that staff but can’t see how the $$$ works. Feel like Filani would have to be an Assistant HC or OC in title to get him here.

I’d love to have Filani back. Question: Wouldn’t we have to bump his title up in order to get him to consider a move out of a P5?

Let’s not project GMac success or Shanice Stevens failures onto Morris. The AD clearly has a model for hiring head coaches. It’s proven successful in other sports for UNT. Let’s hope it will translate to football. I like his UIW HC experience! He’s not inheriting a mess of a roster. Plug in a quality QB and let’s see what we can do.

Man I really hope so. By qualifications we shouldn’t even be interviewing a candidate like this.
