After 25 years of watching UNT football, it’s pretty easy to spot a bad team. This defense simply isn’t going to allow us to stay in games. Sucks.

The 3 man front is an awful idea at our level. Worried about it going in but it was even worse in reality. Had Mendoza flashbacks. Going to be a long season.

With SMU leaving I am concerned
Green Lantern replied to cousin oliver's topic in Conference ReAlignment
Agree. UTSA, Rice, Tulsa, Tulane ect. should also refuse to schedule them in the future. Use it as an opportunity to lock them out of Texas and surrounding state based games. We get nothing out of our series with them. -
What away games are you attending?
Green Lantern replied to All About UNT's topic in Mean Green Football
Navy, SMU, Tulsa - possibly La Tech. -
Yeah, it’s possible he means they’ve got specific packages for Rogers, but that’s not what I took away from his comments in the video. He said that Rogers also performed well in camp and deserved to play. Never like the thought of waffling or “target on the back” of the starter. If Earle won the QB competition, let’s roll with him. Totally comfortable with that.

Are we really going to do the multiple QB’s again??? In our huge opportunity OOC game?

BREAKING NEWS: New UNT Stadium Naming Rights Sponsor
Green Lantern replied to Harry's topic in Mean Green Football
North Texas is clearly using the UH model as a reference point/aspirational peer as we’re moving into the American. I view that as a good thing.- 97 replies

Not to mention as @meanJewGreen stated, with us in the AAC plus this type of non con schedule - it’s like a dream for North Texas fans compared to our Big West/SunBelt days. Remember when La Tech would be the “marquee” non conference home game on our schedule?

Gotta admit - that’s a wild quote. Can be interpreted a couple of different ways. Not a fan of the “you’ve done everything you can here”. Winning the NIT was special but it’s not the NCAA Tournament. We could have run it back again next season - added a couple transfer pieces and tried to make a Sweet 16 push.

Where are you seeing/hearing that we actively encouraged Tylor to move on? Can’t possibly imagine that’s reality.
-
Same. Frequent all of his establishments regularly.

Reason For No Interlocking NT Logo
Green Lantern replied to UNTcrazy727's topic in Mean Green Football
The Alumni Association has never “blocked” the University from incorporating their interlocked NT. URCM leadership has kept the current UNT branding under an iron first ever since the last big redesign that created current marks. Simply no desire to partner, license, or promote anything outside their scope of control. That’s also why our “throwback” merchandise has been a struggle over the years. They fought the Flying Worm thing for literally years. -
Nope. On campus. Where currently planned.

It is official! Ross Hodge is our next head coach!

Timing on making Hodge official?
Green Lantern replied to El Paso Eagle's topic in Mean Green Basketball
Yes -
I’m glad that Utah Valley played a push the pace, high octane offense against UAB. Bonus that it went into overtime. You’re right that we’ve gotta play our style and put em in the meat grinder.
-
Big opportunity for Tylor tonight. Get the feeling he’s ready to show out after the CUSA Semifinals. Walker clearly played with the chip on his shoulder in that game after not being named CUSA Player of the Year. Mean Green get the title and Tylor gets the last word in the best player in the league discussion. Toughest team wins.

One main reason Mac may take the Tech job
Green Lantern replied to meangreenfaninno's topic in Mean Green Basketball
I’m all for investing more in UNT Basketball - coaching salaries and especially a new arena. But I can’t get with anything at the expense of football. We can be great at both. Both need to be relevant.
