  1. That’s more like it! No need to drag our competitive basketball program down for comedy purposes.
  2. Nah. Let’s go ahead and win both of these. We’ll have plenty more new iterations of inane arguments to get into as the season progresses.
  3. Pretty horrible close to the game.
  4. Rough shooting start for the Mean Green. 25% from the floor 😬
  5. I’m saying after watching primarily bad North Texas football for going on 27 years, that I’m pretty confident we’re not building a championship calibre program here. I know he’s not going to be let go but I think we’re probably wasting our time and continuing to jade our fans. Would love to be wrong on this. And in the time of NIL/Transfer Portal mercenaries, I think you can make a change pretty much when you want and rebuild a roster. Again, we’re not gonna do it, but we could.
  6. I’ll say this as well - There are people in my group of 20+ season ticket holders that have held them since 2003 questioning if they’ll renew next year because it’s not fun anymore. It feels hopeless after 20+ years. They’re just saying, I’ll keep supporting basketball because at least we have a real program and coaching staff that we can all believe in through wins and losses. No one believes in the football coaching staff - except Patrick Cobbs - who we might as well elevate to HC. He’s the only one that actually produces and legitimately gives a shit about UNT. This program’s situation is dire whether the AD realizes it or not.
  7. People need to re-read this. At this point I’m of the opinion that Morris needs to go too. This firing is scapegoating a problem of his own making. We don’t play a championship calibre style of football in any of the 3 phases. Our special teams are flat out atrocious - I mentioned this early in the season as well. They just don’t get scrutinized because our focus is all on the historically disastrous defense we’ve fielded. We need to clean house. Caponi isn’t enough.
  8. This was so embarrassing. From 5-1 to 5-5 is just unfathomable. And we’ve looked like garbage for most of these losses. I think I’m just over this experiment. I watched the recent Dan Campbell clip where he’s describing his team’s identity, and he references having put “Grit” on the wall as a constant reminder of who/what is at the core of the team’s identity. We completely lack grit. A very soft, sloppy, undisciplined team and program overall. What is North Texas’ program identity? The only thing we appear to excel at is finding new and creatively embarrassing ways to disappoint our fans.
  9. This is a badge of honor not a swipe from Rothstein. Great to see us go on the road and beat a Big 10 team in a rock fight! We’re relentless and I love it.
  10. That and the defense caused 2 turnovers against a team that doesn’t turn the ball over. Our vaunted Top 5 offense scored 3 fn points! 3 red zone trips - turnover on downs with 1st and goal 6 inches from the goal line and two interceptions. An unimaginable disaster. Then factor in receivers dropping sure fire first downs, a beyond pedestrian run game we’re forcing with a 4th or 5th string running back and so on…the offense was a complete failure. In no reality is this specific game on the defense. Sorry.
  11. What game did you watch??? Don’t think you’re gonna get much agreement in this week’s obligatory moral victory thread.
  12. I mean it’s fine to be upset after this loss (I sure as hell am) and I know the dude is trolling, but what is he saying that’s legitimately wrong? If it makes it more palatable, I’ll say it. North Texas Football never misses an opportunity to miss an opportunity. Seriously - What and when was the last really noteworthy thing the football program has accomplished? The HOD Bowl win in 2013? That was a decade and 2 coaching staffs ago. 5 largest crowds in DATCU history, UNT record 0-5. It’s so tiresome. Our diehard fanbase deserves better than this.
  13. I mean, he’s right. Our football program never fails to disappoint. It’s maddening.
  14. The absolutely did not bring more fans than us. Wasn’t even close. Just stop. It was a nice away crowd contingent just like last time they came to Denton. Love being in a league with them. Tailgate was lively and fun with their fans.
