It has been so long that I am forgetting stuff and I was working to make pictures and not really thinking about football. Harry, back in 1980 I have a Nikon F2 as I remember and this is most likely a 300mm lens. This was scanned from the print that went in the NT Daily. If I run across the negatives I am sure there are some undiscovered gems in there. -
Stix, I was one year removed from the Band. I remember a trip to the Liberty bowl to play someone, must have been La Tech. That must have been 1979. I will look for negatives sometime but as a photographer I have a million and not a real good file system. These were prints I found in a breifcase that were published in the NT Daily. -
Yes I remember going to the Sun Bowl. We got to fly with the team. I remember sitting across from Bill Mercer.

Not sure who the plays are anymore but I think this was against Tulsa in Tulsa. As I remember, we lost on the last play of the game as the scored a long TD. It was a long 7 hour drive home. -

North Texas playing UTEP I believe in 1980 but I will have to check the schedule to see what year it was. I think the running back is Barnard Jackson but am not sure. It was a long time ago.© Mark Williams

I am to the point where I may be done with the whole college football thing. Finally moving up but wait, no we are not. I will get my tickets next year but not sure if I can hang with the negativity on this board.

I enjoyed the game and did not even notice the band director. Just enjoy the game.

The draw of the UNT ticket is still not there. My son played a 7:30 8th grade game and I could not get anyone to take my 4 free tickets and parking pass. A Tuesday night game kinda late for kids when you factor in drive time for those of us further down the road. We keep a good football product out there and they will come and fill the seats not used by ticket holders. I tried hard to give those tickets away.

Bad thing about Tuesday night is that my son has his football game the same night. Even so it would be late to take the kids anyway. I only get 5 games for my 4 season tickets and tonight I can not use them. My seats will be empty.

I really enjoyed watching the Green tonight. They looked good and the score did not tell the story at all. We dominated them. At one point in the 2nd quarter we had 11 first downs to their 0 and they had a total of 3 yards. Of course the kick return aloud us to keep the ball. But still. I hope some folks turn out next week. This team deserves it.
