  1. From Section H, I saw a lot of crappy same ole same ole but I did see something new. 2 goal line stands that were just great. No one has mentioned the one at the end of the half where they went for it on 4 down and we held. If they took the 3 points there would have been no OT. Also the OT goal line stand was just great.

The defence also striped the ball and recovered it on the first OT period and we should have won the game right there but we went backwards and missed a long kick. One of our shortest kicks slammed into the goal post with a ring of OMG I cant believe he missed it. In the 6th OT FIU only needed to make a 30 something yarder but a lineman got a hand on it and the game went on.

The quality of football was off but the excitment level in the stadium was great. I loved the students pooring onto the field after the game.

I always have said that the football program will catch on if you win and put on entertaining games. Last night was entertainment.

  2. I bought season tickets 4 years in a row and would not have it the team had to been doing well. I also got 2 more families to by tickets so I think the affect of winning is tangible both for OCC and conference play. come on. Football is a product for the consumer and we are on our way to grow.

  3. One for the ages: Longtime Tulsa fans probably still remember their favorite team's Oct. 12, 1980 win over North Texas.

Visiting North Texas held a 27-21 lead with 11 seconds left. The Hurricane had the ball on the UNT 20-yard line before quarterback Kenny Jackson rifled a touchdown pass to flanker Paul Johns, capping a 92-yard drive and giving TU a 28-27 victory.

"I'm speechless," then-TU coach John Cooper said after the game. "This was the greatest comeback that I've been involved in in a long time. Our guys never gave up."

    Tulsa's 1980 squad finished 8-3 in Cooper's fourth season.

I was a photographer for the NT Daily and had driven hours with a sports reporter who listed to non other that JOHN DENVER all the way there. This was the worst feeling after a loss that I can remember. Even worse that last year.

  4. As for hats, I have found nothing better than the A-flex hat at Voertman's with the new eagle logo on front. I have had it a year now and its been washed many many times and it is still going. I sweat out my head to I usually go through a hat in a weekend.

The new site has all sorts of goodies, I ordered 2 tee shirts and a chair for my wife, you see at all these youth sports avents there are the UT, A&M and the rest with No NT. So I got that taken care of. Good job on the Mean Green Gear.

    eeeyyyyyyyiiiiiiiii
