Thanks guys for all the positive feedback. It's nice to finally have positive feedback and to finally have a group of cheerleaders I don't know if we will be able to do the North Texas chant during both halves the athletic dept. tells us what to do and when to do it. At the games we aren't supposed to stand up but there toward the end there was no way we were going to sit down the game was way to exciting! Thanks for coming to the game and cheering on the Mean Green! GMG!

I agree with untchick some of the cheerleaders do cheer to support the school and I know I do. Although I have been a cheerleader that has competed for the last 10 years of my life I will still continue to try to cheer for UNT regardless if we compete or not. I love cheerleading regardless if I am in it for cheering on my school or competing. I have shown up at every game I was assigned and continue to do so. I have also a couple of times showed up and cheered for people that could not make their games but I don't mind b/c I love to support our school and cheer on the MEAN GREEN. I think it is great that people are starting to realize that the cheerleaders are a volunteer organization and that bashing them is not helping the situation. Yes there are more important things to cheering I agree firsthand that supporting your school first is more important than competitions but when these people have been competing for years on end they may see the light a little differently. I believe that school spirit should be at the top of the list of priorities and hopefully the cheerleaders will be somehow rewarded for their cheering next year and we won't have this problem. Let's just hope that there will be money coming from somewhere to encourage them to do a better job of supporting the school. GMG!!!

One thing I don't think people realize is that it seems that it continues to be the same people cheering at the games over and over... obviously those people care and it's not fair to sit and tear them down for what they do. I've noticed people continuing to put down the cheerleaders as a whole which is understandable when they have such a poor turn out but it's not fair to the ones that do show up to the games. If I showed up to the games and people put down what I did when i was making an effort I wouldn't be very happy. The ones there may not do much but it doesn't look like there is a lot to do with such few cheerleaders. Honestly, think about it... if it was just you and 2 other people out there would you want to go out in front of a large crowd by yourself with not much to do? I know I probably wouldn't. Just something for y'all to think about. Give some credit to the people that do show up to the games instead of tearing down them with the program as a whole. I know you are only as strong as your weakest link but still it is not fair for people to continue to put down the ones who appear to care enough to show up to the games. GMG!!

Looks like there are only 4 scheduled to cheer. Yeah it looks bad when many don't show up but when there are 4 or so only originally scheduled to cheer it makes it a little more difficult to make sure that everyone is there. Scrappy was at the womens last home game but not too many people showed up to that game! See you at the game! GMG
