  2. Another nice article on PC - (Though North Texas STATE mentioned...:-( )
  3. Interesting thread: Message Board Thread on Cobbs
  4. ". … In scout team drills, Patrick Cobbs played the role of Cardinals running back Edgerrin James." Hey, at least he is impressing them, though...
  5. Good point...now get your green shades back on, please.
  6. That's Adrian Peterson, from Georgia Souhtern...NOT Adrian Peterson from OU Kinda weird, huh...

  8. Harking back to the question/phrase "Where have you gone, Joe DiMaggio?"... Anyone know what happened to Jonas Buckles??? I see where Markeith Knowlton was recently signed by BC Lions of the CFL, but I actually thought Buckles was a better Pro (NFL, CFL, etc.) prospect. I even saw him listed on a draft board, amongst this list of "players to watch for the NFL Draft": "DB Marlin Jackson, Corey Webster, Carlos Rogers, Keon Newson, Brandon Browner, Darnell Bing, Glenn Sharpe, Greg Threat, Alan Zemaitis, Will Blackmon, Antrel Rolle, Justin Miller, William Buchanon, Darren Williams, Jimmy Williams, Jarrod Page, Darnell Bing, Ryan Glasper, TJ Stancil, Darrint Williams, Jonas Buckles" Can anyone fill me in...
  9. No, not really given historical verity. Seems like we have many of the same questions...even given the opportunity of the past year to gain experience. Just like this time last year, we could be good...we could be bad. Quid est veritas?
  10. I am with you on this one. We have all seen how much of a "what have you done for me lately" the college football world is. And, having said that, there are still many who feel our accomplishments (in the Sunbelt) are not that big of a deal. Some would argue a few more OOC wins would be more impressive. Hey, look at Troy and the respect they earned for their OOC wins... Part of a different thread...but PLEASE DD/RF just pick ONE QB and go with it...none of this QB carousel nonsense this season...
  11. Yes...sacrifices had to be made...
  12. Don't give the kid a crutch...that is not what he needs. It is NOT the coaching staff's fault. Too many young adults these days require babysitting, which translates to their work habits, and eventually leads to a tear in the moral and ethical fabric of our society. OK...I am now off of my soap box...
  13. Great...I just showed this to my wife. She told me I should have NO excuses not to lose at least 10 pounds by August 1st! Bewarned my fellow married men...a new bar has been set. Thanks, Tim, for blowing the curve...
  14. GREAT article!!! Now, let's get 'r done!
  15. Michigan/Delaware Helmet
  16. ..."even the Sunbelt"... Nice...
  17. Hello, MeanGreenPOP...I hope you and your sons are doing well! I have to disagree with you here. Oklahoma may have OU...but that is about it, really, nationally. To say that OK should be 2nd behind TX is a bold statement, really, considering you would have to leave FL and CA out of the Top 2. If you look at the great programs that TX, CA, and FL have compared to just OU in OK that really does say it all. Heck, if just having OU were enough, Indiana would be #2 with ND!
  18. I'm confused (no comment, please! )...I find it HARD to believe that a chick that hot would have a difficult time finding someone her own age, AND who is NOT in HS! BTW...no I did not have any teachers this good looking, either...
  19. I totally agree...but I wonder if sports writers and the like dinged him for only making all those tackles b/c of the porous defense?
  20. NCMeangreen... Just kidding! Seriously, though, I will also add the fact that some good bands/musicians originate from NT. Faktion, Brave Combo, The Eagles (Don Henley), Deep Blue Something <Breakfast at Tiffany's group>(are they still a group?), Mingo Fishtrap, Riddle Me This?...I am sure some other music lovers can come up with soem more. Then there is he guy who wrote the screenplay for "Brokeback Mountain"... OK, what about "Stonecold" Steve Austin, Peter Weller, Brian Waters, Patrick Cobbs, Abner Haynes, Dr. Phil, Pat Boon, Thomas Hayden Church (Wings actor), Joe Don Baker (actor), Phyllis George, Ray Renfro Look at this website: Famous NT Alumni
  21. Gov. Thomas Johnson HS in Frederick, MD. We are the 'Patriots'...had to go with the whole "colonial" theme I guess...
  22. Somewhat related...I sat next to Jill Arrington on a flight from Raleigh-Durham to DFW, where she was flying to Dallas to cover a football game. She was not only a VERY attractive lady ...but was extremely nice as well. For the first hour of the flight, I actually did not put two-and-two together regarding who she was until she said that she was a TV sports analyst. One of the best moments in my life...next to marrying my wife, OF COURSE!!!
  23. Good point. Baby steps...baby steps...
