Second awesome NT game for me. I was at the Charlotte game and now the Tulsa game. I think I am the good luck charm...sorry I was not there for the UTA game! Crowd was not great, but did really get into it at the end which was fun. The team was pumping their arms trying to get the crowd into it at the end, and the crowd responded. GO MEAN GREEN!!!

I think everyone is just being diplomatic about the wholw situation. It would be a bit rude to pile on at this point. Having said that, yes, I am quite positive this came as huge shock to everyone...

Just got back from the game. The BB team did us proud tooday. GREAT game against a good club. What a HUGE OOC win for the Mean Green BB team!!! Just wanted to share a little joy with everyone. One of my best Mean Green games of any sport. I LOVED being able to stand up and yell "GO MEAN GREEN" when the final buzzer went off. GO MEAN GREEN!!!

Just got back from the game. We played AWESOME!!! Young and Davis played stellar...FT shooting was off the hook, and they played very aggressive ball. I had such a blast watching this game. I am very excited about the upcoming season. The team was excited and focused the whole game, and played a complete one. Good win against a great team...

I was watching game footage of the NT vs. UT game, in the late 80's I believe, and there was a questionable passing TD. The UT QB threw it to the right back corner of the endzone, and it looked like the UT receiver layed out to catch the ball but caught it out of the back of the endzone. Did anyone watch that game? Was that receiver actually in bounds??? Looks like that play would have been a good candidiate for "instant" replay. Anyone know the truth???

My family on my father's side is from Texas. Mostly living in Dallas, and my family has a ranch out in Boyd. My father was born in Dallas, but spent most of his career (22 years, I believe) in the military. He is now a Methodist pastor in Sanger, and him and my mother live in Krum. I was actually born in Manhattan...Kansas, where my father was attending vet school at KSU. My dad was stationed in NC and DC while I was growing up....but he moved back to TX my senior year in HS (in Maryland). Anyway, got in some trouble my freshmen year (sound familiar???) at a private school in PA (followed my girlfriend ), and then transfered to NT as "my only option" from my parents. It was ok...GREAT school, GREAT education, and lots of great memories. I live in Raleigh, NC now but will be bringing my kids down to see their grandparents Thanksgiving week. We are planning on going to the FAU game, and possibly the Tulsa (BB) game. Actually, I will be watching the mens BB team tomorrow against UNC-Charlotte...will have to let everyone know how it goes. OK, sorry. That was probably my longest post, but the topic intrigued me. Thanks!

Thank you, and well said. Honestly everyone, let's just be real about this. The fact is, the SB was terrible at first and we took advantage of it. Many of those clubs have now caught up to us, can handle us, and our current coaching staff is highly ineffective at having answers. The bowl games should have been an early indicator of where we were heading once that happened. We need new blood in here that will advance the program forward, not backward or (just as bad) remain stagnant.

My hunch is that this is defintely true. Seemed like he had a bit of an attitude, and a "holier-than-thou" personality... Anyway, good riddance... Dickey-ball was getting old, and I am looking forward to beating some more OOC opponents.

I was just wondering if any of the local Mean Green fans were going to the UNC-Charlotte game? This will be my first game this season...but I will be going to the Tulsa game as well. Kind of excited about this season!!! I hope to see some other Mean Green fans there...

Good decision...should be an interesting next several months... What caliber of coaches you think will apply? This could be a good job for someone, I would think...

Yep, that was probably the game. The coaches have to teach these young men how to overcome diversity, and keep on...

I think the good people here in Raleigh are just about fed up with this guy...and this does not help his cause. He has embarrassed his program, and looking for crappy excuses like that is cheap. Let me tell you, the win over Appalachian State was not a "rail-road" win by any stretch of the imagination. App State had some stupid penalties in the 3rd quarter that allowed NCSU to even stay in the game. They were lucky to get that win, but, I will go back and check the "non-qualifier" status for App State!!!!

Seems reasonable enough... Wonder if the quarterback "coming off the bench" will be DM or MP?????

Good predictions! Down by that much in the 4th with nothing to lose would they not go for it on 4th down? I say yes...48-0.
