I like Derek Thompson...but we do need a more dual-threat presence in the backfield at QB. I have my concerns whether he can get it done? Also, maybe coach Mac will decide to just "start over" and go with his guys. Many coaches do that, as it is difficult to change the culture from kids that have been in the old regime for so long. Might be best to start from scratch...build this thing up...and go from there?

Yes, and noT just that particular phrase was used. We do not act like a football team that expects to win. I mean, this is the first game in OUR new stadium...UH is coming to OUR home...and we are treating it like we are playing a body bag game. These kids do not believe they can win...and that is a failure of this coaching staff. I really thought things would be different this year, but so far we do not appear to be so far removed from last season. I get it that "the pantry was left bare"...and we are a "young team"...that is "rebuilding"... I am just tired of the excuses...just suck it up, be a man, and leave it all out on the field. PROTECT THIS HOUSE!!!

I predicted 24-14 as well...and used that as my stance for a decent game w/out actually winning. Were we really going to win this game? Doubtful. I just think that most of us looked at this game realistically. We knew we were not going to win, but still expected a good showing nonetheless. 24-14 would have been awesome (even for a loss). We could build upon that. Now we are left wondering if we will even win one game this season?

At :43 secs in, did you see one of our players drop a pass?? Now THAT was indicative!! HAHAHAHAHA! Seriously...guess in hind site, all that lolly gagging and slow-walking needs to stop, we need to pep it up some. Show some ENERGY!!! One thing I have said many times now is that before the Army game last year the team looked like zombies during the pre-game warm-up. Looked to be the same tonight, really, and pretty much same results.

Somebody needs to hand me a script to follow...b/c at this point I am just not sure how to react. Week 1 thru Week 4 - Blame TD Week 5 thru Week 8 - Blame small team...AND blame TD for small team Week 9 - Start holding out hope for next season...
