  1. That's right...now I remember. WVU pulled out all the stops to get him to stay...I believe the boosters really kicked in and gave him a big raise. Guess it wasn't enough, though.
  2. Boy, there is absolutely no loyalty left anymore. I never thought he would have left WV...this is truly shocking.
  3. I am not sure that I follow...what do you mean here?
  4. Is that what it is? Guess it will be ok if we can schedule an equal, or even better, opponent. But, is there anything more to this?
  5. They beat Texas Tech???
  6. NOT helping us... ...selfish...
  7. Not to be defensive here (maybe a little prideful in my alma mater), but I do not think that I would be doing any better, or be more successful, if I went to another school over NT. In other words, I would not trade my degree from NT for any other school. I had such a wonderful experience there, and thought my instructors were top notch. Sounds like he better depend on his education...doubt he makes a career playing football.
  8. Just found out that the NT/Denver game will be on the FSN (Rocky Mount) channel. I had to renew my Sports Pack (DirecTV) to get the game. This has been REALLY awesome, being able to see all of these NT basketball games on TV. I think this will be my 4th game? Anyway...just wanted to give the heads-up!
  9. No way to spin this...this is not good. We knew there was going to be some players to leave, but this was one of Dodge's kids. We knew about Tomlin since, when, last June??? Why has he waited this long to make this decision? Point is, makes you wonder if the season results had anything to do with his decision.
  10. THE SKY IS FALLING!!!...THE SKY IS FALLING!!!... I just read Vito's blog, and I take it back...the sky IS falling!
  11. Bueller...Bueller...
  12. This article is not quite fair. Sure, ASU is riding a high right now...and who wouldn't based on their recent success. But, here's the real question: Is it sustainable??? I have lived here in NC for @ 7 years now. I had not heard much of anything about ASU until the last couple of years and, yes, that was due to their recent success (mainly their I-AA Championship success). I have several good friends who graduated from there, heck, my boss graduated from there. But, truth is, they do not talk much about ASU. As a matter of fact, they are all UNC fans! Yes, I did receive multiple phone calls when ASU beat Michigan. But, I have not really heard much news since. Point is, yes, they have gained some respect in the state of NC (and, yes, nationally). However, if ASU were to falter for even 1...maybe two seasons...I seriously doubt you would here much about them anymore.
  13. Geez...Coach Dodge leaves and they're already losing???
  14. That would be perfect...and would fit in nicely with the rest of the facilities over at the Mean Green Village. It sounds like for $60 million, they got the stadium, roads, other infrastructure, AND severla athletic fields. We would not need the athletic fields, and infrastructure should not be too bad.
  15. Ankle injury, I believe...should be back soon though.
  16. Here you go Plumm: Definition of "Jonesing" Also, not a problem on the hijack!
  17. OK...don't ban me from the board, but I have a confession to make. I actually really like Gerald J. Ford Stadium, and wish we had something like that too. What a nice looking stadium...SMU just does not deserve it... Anyway...one of these days we will have a handsome stadium too...
  18. Wow...sounds like they would REALLY LOVE to have our Coach Dodge. I am not sure he would even consider that job, though.
  19. Interesting...Josh White does not have a hyperlink on his name!
  20. OK...maybe I stand to be corrected! Ben Bell looked to have a pretty good game tonight. Gee, you think he read this thread and this gave him a good challenge. Nah...me neither!
  21. Thanks for your thoughts. I also noticed something else. During the UT game, and when the score was 64-55, Ben threw a bad pass. I believe that 9 points is the closest we came to UT during that game. Not to question Ben being a good passer, but it looks as if that may have been the turning point of the game, as we really had some good momentum until that bad pass.
  22. I just re-watched the UNT/UT again for the 3rd time. I was curious about something, and maybe someone with more basketball knowledge than I can address my concern. Watching Ben Bell over the course of the season (Cameron, OSU, UT...just to qualify)...it seems like he misses a good number of his shots. He especially misses his 3-point shots. Now, I guess he is supposed to be a "passing" guard, not a shooter. Josh White defintely looks like a "shooting" guard, but would it not be nice to have two of those on the court at one time??? My first thought was that having two Josh White's on the court at one time would be awesome (kind of like having both Super Jamrio AND Patrick Cobbs). But, would that actually be of detriment to the team? Thoughts???
  23. As I have stated multiple times, I really like Rice-Eccles Stadium (Utah), and think something like that would be perfect for us: http://utahutes.cstv.com/trads/utah-trads-ricestadium.html
  24. Regarding attendance...does it hurt us that the two Texas schools (UTA, UT) beat us??? Others not really focused on the big picture may just see that and think we stink...
  25. No, I believe you are correct. As I recall, he was definetly contemplating retirement after last season but changed his mind. He must have thought with the returning players that with Mike Hart et al returning that they stood a pretty good chance of doing something big. Well the did, actually...just not what they had in mind!!!
