No Offense my friend...but are you serious??? A schedule designed for $$ and to beat the crap out of the team early. Yes, KSU and LSU...but Tulsa and Rice!!! Dude, it is RICE...NOT OU or Texas or Florida, etc. If we cannot compete against the likes of Rice and Tulsa, then we should just go back down to IAA. SERIOUSLY!!! wHO can WE COMPETE AGAINST!??? I was going to say Army...but even they almost beat Texas A&M. We would get are butts handed to us by Texas A&M. Hell, we would get out butts handed to us by Texas State...

...doesn't seem like a bad idea now. What a f'in embarassment we have made ourselves. This football program sucks, and I think this now vindicates those (like me) that have always thought hiring a HS football coach was a VERY BAD idea. My one hope is that Todd Dodge will now get off his frickin' high horse and take some responsibility. NO it is not the stadium or other facilities, NO it is not the players, NO it is not <In sert any one of his prior excuses here>...it is the COACHING!!! As I have said in prior postings...STOP WITH THE DANG EXCUSES AND START COACHING!!! Todd Dodge has been given too many free passes. He has ridden the whole SLC thing for all it is worth. Well, his true nature and abilities have now been exposed. He has no more excuses that seem reasonable. Even with bad talent this type of loss should not have been possible. I now cannot argue with all of the posters that say SLC most likely could beat us. In the least they can certainly hang with us... Anyone concerned with all of those players leaving the program at the beginning of the season now??? Why was that not really discussed??? Why is TD never challenged. If he were an honorable man (as so many have suggested) he would be truthful and admit that he IS in over his head and not make excuses. But, he is afforded that protection from reality because that same reality proves that no one really cares...save a few REALLY naive and (most likely) highly intoxicated few. BTW...my apologies to Brett Vito for ever challenging him on his honest journalism. He, obviously, saw this train wreck coming. What a GREAT idea! When I worked for the athletic department in the early 90's I was astonished at the condition of the stadium. The first time pulling up to it did not look that bad, but the interior did not hide a flaw. When you walk into the offices, equipment rooms, and player rooms it reminds one of a bomb shelter. (Come to think of it, this stadium was built in the 50's so was "Red Scare" ready!) Anyway, the room we used for VIP's and returning Lettermen was hideous and smelled like something had just died there the night before. This was before the infamous "Lipstick on a Pig" paint job and new rug so it was even worse back then. This is not a fine cognac or whiskey...age HAS NOT made it any better!!!

At first glance I thought this to be a rather uninspiring future football schedule. However, it would be nice to "renew" our rivalry with SMU again, and Army will give me a much nicer commute to see a NT game. Plus, it is always nice to play a service academy... I am curious, however. If the <TBD> Stadium <at Fouts Field???> truly is not to be completed until 2011, and KSU is supposed to come to town in 2010, would that game might not be possibly moved back a year or more to be played at the new venue?

We had better win or at least make it comptetive as hell. How embarassing that there would be an article that would even suggest that a team like Rice (a non-BCS team like us) would even contemplate looking past us. It makes it seem like they are playing a IAA team or something. Like even the thought that we might be able to hang with them is unfathomable. This is truly a low point for us as a program. Did I say how embarassing this was? Rice. If this were UT, or OU, or TT even I most certainly could not argue the statement that they find us an inferior opponent. But, and as the article suggests, for it to be entertained that Rice has such superior athletes than NT is ridiculous!!! We have got to step up here folks! We have to make a statement now before we replace Army as the laughing stock of IA college football. I am truly going to lose some sleep if we become Rice's bitch this season...

Does anyone know who this person is? I am absolutely shocked that there would be any opposition to this. Where is this person's (and every other opposition member's) sense of school pride? This university will not succeed without this football stadium. Do you honestly think we can compete against the likes of UT, OU, TT, Baylor, SMU, TCU, etc. without this new facility!?? Whether people want to admit it or not, successful academic programs are tied to successful athletic programs. We need this new stadium to succeed!

Yeah, and the scary thing is...keep in mind that teams somewhat back-off when they start killing someone. So, it could be even worse for us. We just suck...hopefully we get better...

I LOVE your support and dedication...but be realisitc as well. If we can hold LSU to under 50 points OR score more than 21 points on them then I will be the first person to come on this board and apologize for having any doubt AND I will buy you dinner next time I am in Denton (which will be for the ASU game in November)!!!
