Actually, and maybe I just am missing something...but I am a little concerned here. This kid may be a great addition...but he really did not play at Georgia Southern (a I-AA program) and, as a matter of fact, transferred b/c he did not play (yes, I do understand that they are changing their "style" of offense)...was not offered many scholarships (in fact, none were from I-A programs)...and then transferred from a community college. And, if those tape highlights were from his playing time at a CC...then I am really not that impressed. Am I missing something here? I thought we wanted a play maker...someone who would not just sit back in the pocket but was mobile. Riley may be fragile...but he is a VERY mobile QB. This kid seems kind of slow, and not nearly as mobile as Riley. So, what do the coaches (especially Coach Canales) see in him? Was he our only option? Sorry, but I am just not moved when I hear that he "chose" us b/c of his connection with Coach Canales. I mean...must have been a TOUGH, TOUGH decision to choose us over the likes of TN State and Murray State. Even though it IS the powerhouse that is Murray State...

I was messing around with the uniform builder (edit tool) on the Nike website...and the look I liked the most was similar to the uniforms we had back in the 80's. I know several on the board have said this was their favorite look...and it did look fairly sharp. I for one will be glad to ditch the SLC North look...although they did start to grow on me. I hated them at first, but the reality is I will most likely hate the new uniforms at first as well. However, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do not bring back the green-on-green uniforms we had at the beginning of this decade. Also, the North Texas script was just stupid looking...

That is just ridiculous! NO purple for TCU??? Whoever thought that up is a real genius for sure... The Florida uniforms really look classic and, frankly, do not look too much different from their actual uniforms. Also, the Boise State uniforms look really cool. But, whoever told Oregon that duck feathers were scary was lying to them... It is almost like this is a punishment for TCU...yeah, you get to go to a BCS bowl, but your uniforms will look like dog poop!! HA!

IF C-USA is not at all a possibility, then... Give me the MWC over the SB any day of the week (especially on Saturday!!! ) Especially with the addition of Boise State, Fresno, and Hawaii? That may not make up for the loss of TCU for some, but still MUCH better than the SB... Frankly, I cannot understand how we could even compare the SB to the MWC...not even close I am afraid (as we will most likely be stuck in the SB conference). A simple comparison shows that while there are some similarities to the member schools (type of institution, enrollment numbers, etc.), there are vast differences as well, such as rankings and name recognition. Really, I cannot blame the kid. If that is where he truly wanted to go...and his father and uncle played there...then that is great for him. He would not have made an impact initially anyway since he had to take his Morman mission. Good luck to the young man i say!!!

So what positions will these guys coach? And, is Bowen the only outstanding potential coach at this point??

The reality is that a program like NT has to take on these projects...though they do seem risky. Who knows...he may be a SB 1st team linemen before all is said and done...
