Competition at QB for #2 spot will be fierce.

Don’t have a link but I stumbled across a UCLA fan online making a case they should consider hiring McCasland. Not saying it will happen but who the heck knows. Coach Bro just got hired to the NFL after getting fired at Tech for goodness sakes! If he keeps winning he’s going to get some looks.

I agree but their schedule is a lot more difficult.

DL Xavier Washington 6-1, 238 4.85 Cedar Hill (offer)

I get that he had an incident, but I’m guessing UTSA would be happy to give him a second chance. Hope the coaches take a long look at this one. -
Old Mavs basketball coach Dick Motta used to ascribe to the “wounded tiger” theory. This Southern Miss game seems to be one of those instances as they have had a key injury with redshirt senior Dominic Magee who let the team in rebounds last season and was 3rd in scoring. "Dick Motta, former coach of the Dallas Mavericks, loved to invoke the Wounded Tiger theory any time his team suffered a key injury or played an opponent missing a pivotal starter. Motta's theory, in a nutshell, suggests that the wounded tiger fights hardest, making it the most difficult jungle cat to subdue."

Tech just seems to have our number. Damn!

Give Tech credit that Archibald 3 from the top of the key was just huge.

I noticed that as well... almost like it is shade from the center scoreboard? Very ugly whatever it is...

They are overplaying the perimeter so we need to start driving to the basket more and force them to foul.

RUSTON – After finishing 2018 with seven straight wins, Louisiana Tech will carry that streak into the new calendar year of 2019 when they take on North Texas on Thursday night at 7 p.m. inside the Super Pit. The matchup will be streamed live on ESPN+ (subscription required) with Hank Dickenson and Paul Valamides calling the action. Fans can also listen to the Voice of the Bulldogs Dave Nitz and Jack Thigpen call the game through the LA Tech Sports Network on KXKZ 107.5 FM (Ruston), KJVC 92.7 FM (Mansfield) and KRMD 100.7 FM/1340 AM (Shreveport) as well as on the Louisiana Tech X mobile app. LA Tech (11-3, 1-0 C-USA) opened league action with a convincing 71-56 victory over travel partner Southern Miss this past Saturday. It marked the fifth time in the last six seasons that the Bulldogs began C-USA action with a win. With the win, the Bulldogs ended the month with a perfect 7-0 record, marking the first time since 1971 (and only the fourth time since 1950) that the team went undefeated in December. Sophomore forward Anthony Duruji poured in a season-high 23 points against the Golden Eagles, connecting on a career-tying four three-pointers. It marked his team-leading 10th game in double-digit scoring. Sophomore guard Jacolby Pemberton also connected on a career-high four triples (only had two total last season). Houston’s hiring of Dana Holgorsen flies in the face of the traditional progression of the coaching carousel. Sure, Group of Five schools have plucked their new head coaches from Power 5 staffs often over the years, but most have been coordinators or assistants being given a shot at their first head-coaching jobs, or recently fired Power 5 head coaches who seek another chance in the big chair instead of moving down the org chart and taking an assistant job at a bigger program. And then there’s Holgorsen, who with his agreement to a five-year, $20 million deal, becomes the only person to move from a Power 5 head coaching job to a Group of Five head coaching job without being fired or otherwise forced out. What Holgorsen did probably isn’t the start of a trend, but it’s still meaningful evidence that even if the Group of Five doesn’t have universal respect among big-time college football, at least its best teams do, especially within the American Athletic Conference. Yeah they lost to LSU but it was a close game. That UCF program can hold their head high. It looks to me that the biggest differences between them and us is the lines and depth. They would be a great program to emulate. Lot of similarities between us.

I agree with @BillySee58 this game seems eerily similar to our football game against La. Tech last season.

2018 was great - here’s to an even better 2019. Go Mean Green!

Maybe a different take on this but— If the powers that be at IH have any inkling that Major is not working out than kudos to them for sniffing it out now and dealing with it now versus later when the hole is deeper. I also get the sense that the lower level P5 programs are the ones making the biggest stink here. They don’t like it that someone from G5 is competing with them with money and resources.
