  1. I really wish the AD would consider promoting him more for the heisman. I know he’s a long shot but why not throw it out there. He’s got the best damn underdog story in the world. Whether he’s a serious competitor or not the story alone will grab hearts.
  2. He’s impressive on film - great speed, vision. My only concern would be level of competition. Some of the guys chasing him look small and slow. Then again, his offer list is extremely impressive.
  3. Just picked up a Texas offer, only one of the 2 Texas has offered at this time.. guy has only played one year of high school ball? Wow...
  4. Anyone know of the new recruiting territories? Obviously the one above is dated as far as coaches, but the actual territories may still be the same.
  5. I agree I would like to see which schools had a bigger overall percentage increase of similar size and conference etc...
  6. This data is a little dated but it shows you why certain schools are in certain conferences. I pulled it from the Knight Report which is a pretty cool website that looks at the finances of college sports. You can check it out here: https://www.knightcommission.org/finances-college-sports/ There are certainly outliers like James Madison that defy logic. Then again, you can almost outline who is in what conference based on their revenue number. 43 Texas Tech Big 12 $88,804,476 56 Houston AAC $57,174,900 57 Central Florida AAC $56,327,225 58 San Diego State Mt. West $52,454,787 72 Wyoming Mt. West $40,372,222 I've attached a graphical comparison of where dollars go as well in pdf. knightcommission-report UNT 2017.pdf

  8. 90. North Texas Seth Littrell is the first coach to have back-to-back winning seasons at North Texas since Darrell Dickey did so in three straight years from 2002-04. But Littrell shouldn’t be the last. Thanks to its location in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex and the school’s recent plan to upgrade facilities, there is no reason the Mean Green should not contend for C-USA West Division titles on a consistent basis. 9. Mason Fine 2018 Stats: 303-469, 64.6% Completion, 3,793 yards, 27 TD, 5 INT, 149.4 PER Mason Fine has thrown for more yards over the past two seasons than any other player, and it's not that close. The reigning two-time Conference USA Player of the Year has amassed 7,845 passing yards since the beginning of 2017. No. 2 on that list is former Missouri QB Drew Lock at 7,462. Only 10 quarterbacks put up at least 6,200 yards between the 2017 and 2018 campaigns, and Fine is the only one who will still be playing college football in 2019. 10. Love seeing our guy at #1! Surprised to see Robison at #7. Also interesting to see Frank Harris’ name showing up for sack.
  11. Love DeLong and what he has accomplished but it seems like she should given that she recruited most of the players. Looks like she just ran out of time.

  15. Can someone confirm the builder and anyone have a link to the specs? I think we had that info posted before but I can’t find it. Thx
  16. Not doubting just questioning. Not saying it didn't work well for us last year. Just saying keeping some spots open may be an alternative to consider.
  17. Should you try to get as many early commitments as possible, especially given the earlier signing Date of December? Or should you hold off and leave open spots, waiting to see who is out there and wait for the P5's to load up? Or should you do a mix of both? To give you an idea of where things stand now, we have 5 commits and are ranked #3 in C-USA: Tulsa has 2 commits SMU: 0 UTSA: 5 La. Tech: 3 Houston: 1 Rice: 7 UTEP: 0 UAB: 2 For the record, I am a believer in holding back some open spots because the closer you get to signing day the more talented players will come available. I've just seen too many times where really good players came available late in the game when we were all filled up. On the other hand, if you can fill up early and land quality players at positions you need, it's hard to say no to that!
  18. I hear you on that great point — Kansas is a great example as they have hired a big name AD and head coach Les Miles and seem to be truly serious this time (heard that before we have of course). I think Houston is the type of g5 program I aspire for us to be. Yeah they came up short for the Big 12 but look at where they are now with Holgerson and Sampson as coaches, new facilities and a bright future. In football, they are getting 4 star transfers who are wanting to come back home, and they are convincing guys like Ed Oliver to stay there. They paid Tom Herman 2.5 million and everyone thought they were crazy to do it at the time. Now not so much. I would like to see us become the Houston program of DFW.
  19. I agree, Wren is doing great and I would be all for him getting an extension, but I think he needs to secure conference championships in the major revenue sports to get him to that next level of big money P5 jobs. When he does that it will become very difficult for us to keep him here.
